Model FT/IR-600Plus Series Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer The new FT/IR-600Plus series is the top of the line in research grade FT/IRs from Jasco. The 600Plus series attains the highest performance level in its class with exceptional signal to noise (S/N) ratio specifications. All models in the series are designed with flexibility and expandability in mind making them suitable for a wide range of research applications. The high performance and advanced features provided by the 600Plus series meet the resolution, sensitivity and wavenumber range requirements demanded by today’s research analysts. Features - 28 deg. incident angle optics to increase throughput and reduce polarization effects. Wide wavenumber range. The standard measurable wavenumber range can be expanded to 15,000 to 20 cm–1 by replacing the light source, beam splitter, and other optical components. Auto-alignment for fixed mirror allows easy beam splitter exchange by any level of operator. Supports microscopes, secondary sample chambers, and emission measurement using optional external light introduction feature together with an external optics system. Optional vacuum-sealed optics system for fast and efficient elimination of water vapor and carbon dioxide. Versatility The three main models in the FT/IR-600Plus series are available with either a purgeable or evacuable interferometer. - The FT/IR-660Plus is ideal for general research applications, offering resolution down to 0.5 cm–1 and a signal to noise ratio of 25,000:1. - The FT/IR-670Plus offers resolution down to 0.25 cm –1 and a signal to noise ratio of 28,000:1, making it suitable for applications such as gas analysis. - The FT/IR-680Plus is capable of resolution down to 0.25 cm–1 and realizes a signal to noise ratio of 30,000:1. This model also employs gold-coated interferometer optics and has rapid scan capability, enabling the system to be expanded to FT/Raman. Purgeable or Evacuable Case All models in the FT/IR-600Plus series come with a fully purgeable optical system as standard. A durable, pressure resistant aluminum alloy casing for the interferometer also allows an upgrade to an evacuable interferometer or even a fully evacuable system that includes the sample and detector chambers (factory option). For high sensitivity and measurement in the Far IR region the effects of water vapor and carbon dioxide cannot be ignored. This is particularly important when measuring in the Far IR region where the absorbance of water vapor is relatively high. Although purging with dry air and nitrogen gas is the conventional solution to this problem, a vacuum is a faster and more efficient method of removing water vapor and carbon dioxide and improves performance significantly in the Far through Mid IR regions. Evacuable models are also capable of conventional nitrogen purging. Vibration Isolated Optical Bench The interferometer, detector and other components are mounted on an optical bench secured to a special vibration absorbing insulator effectively isolating the bench from the top, bottom and outer casing. Protecting the optical path from external vibration enables the highest sensitivity possible under all conditions. Multiple-range Capability While the standard range of all the FT/IR-600Plus series instruments is from 7,800 ~ 350cm–1, all models can be easily expanded for measurement from the Near IR (15,000cm–1) to Far IR (50cm–1) region. Up to three different light sources and four different detectors can be utilized to optimize performance in any region. Switchover between light sources and detectors is automated by PC and requires no optical alignment. Beam splitters are easily interchangeable via a simple push-in, pull out mechanism. The PC executes an auto-alignment method to optimize the lightpath. Beam splitters are equipped with a recognition code to allow the software to automatically recognize the applicable wavenumber range. Rapid Scan Function All models in the FT/IR-600Plus series support rapid scanning, which enables up to twenty scan measurements per second making real time analysis of kinetic changes possible. The rapid scan function is a standard feature for the FT/IR-680Plus and is offered as an option for the FT/IR-660Plus and FT/IR670Plus. Rapid scan measurement requires an MCT detector. Spectra Manager Software Suite The Spectra Manager suite provides a wide range of advanced features and functions that allow precise measurement and detailed data analysis. Spectra Manager bundles a comprehensive collection of powerful, easy-to-use applications eliminating the need to learn multiple software packages. Auto Recognition Accessory System This series includes a new Auto Recognition Accessory System. Once an accessory has been registered, the system recognizes the accessory as soon as it is attached and its measurement parameters are automatically set.
