Transmission Range: If connection is through a wall jack, (not recommended) this could limit the full transmission distance between the Transmitter and Receiver Extenders. We only recommend using a straight CAT5/6 cable with RJ45 connections on each end. Shielded Cable: On most installations it is recommended to use Shielded CAT5/6 cable with properly connected shielded RJ45 connectors. This will prevent video and audio loss due to EMI and other interference from switched lighting and ceiling fans. Caution: 1. The wiring must be away from any equipment with electromagnetic wave, i.e.: mobile phone, microwave, radio equipment, fluorescent lamp, and high voltage power lines. 2. Installation View:
Light Status: - Step1: Without any connections just the Transmitter and Receiver Extenders powered up for the first time they should have solid green power lights and the IR emitter light should be solid red. - Step 2: Attach Cat5/6 cable to both Transmitter and Receiver extenders. The solid red emitter light goes out and the left green indicator light on the Cat5/6 input comes on solid if communicating correctly. Between Transmitter and Receiver extenders if the Cat5/6 wire is cut, shorted, or general integrity problems with cable top left green light will not light. Please note maximum distance over Cat5/6 cable is 328ft (100m). - Step 3: Once Step 2 is successful plug HDMI cable from source like BluRay into Transmitter Extender and plug HDMI cable from TV into Receiver Extender. After boot time and a few seconds to establish communication you should have picture.
