Apps are small “Application” programs that you can install on your mobile phone. The App Store contains different categories of apps like games, business, travel, social networking and more. Qatar’s Baladiya government services app can be downloaded from the App Store.

The Apps that come with your iPhone are the built in Apps. There are hundreds of thousands more. There are Apps for free and ones you have to purchase.
Find all the new music, movies, TV shows, and podcasts you want. Then download it all right to your iPhone, wherever you happen to be. You can download your new apps wirelessly, as long as you have a 3G or 4G (mobile telephone network) or Wifi (connected to a wireless computer network) connection.
Types of Mobile Internet Connections Your mobile phone can connect to the Internet in different ways. 3G and 4G connections use your mobile phone service provider’s (ex: QTel or Vodafone) digital telephone network to send and receive Internet data. Wifi connections use a wireless Internet connection through a computer network. Some mobile network connection types (ex: GSM, EDGE, or 2G) are too slow to provide access to the Internet.

iCloud
iCloud is different than an app, which is downloaded and installed on your phone. It is a service provided by the Apple company that uses the Internet to take care of your music, TV shows, photos, documents and any other files. iCloud stores your files safely on the Internet, so that you can access them from any of your Apple devices (like your iPhone, iPad, or Apple computer).

Contacts
Add a contact You must invite contacts to use BlackBerry Messenger before they are added to your BlackBerry Messenger contact list. 1. In BlackBerry Messenger, on the Contact list screen, press the Menu key. 2. Click Add a Contact. 3. Type part or the entire contact name. 4. Click the contact. 5. When you invite someone to join your BlackBerry Messenger contacts, you can add a password question and answer. The new contact will need to correctly answer the invitation question in order to complete the connection! On the invitation password screen, type an invitation question and answer, and click OK. If you do not want to use invitation passwords, just click on Cancel to exit the screen. 6. If you want to add a custom message to your invitation, type a message. 7. Click OK.

Scanning to add a BBM contact

There is a faster way to add a new BBM contact! BBM can use your BlackBerry phone’s camera to scan a special code called a Quick Response Code (or QR Code). BBM calls these special QR Codes a PIN Barcode. Your new contact can tell BBM to ‘show’ his or her BBM PIN Barcode on their screen. When you ‘scan’ (take a picture) of the code using BBM on your phone, the new contact is automatically added!
To display your BBM ID Code: Open BBM Click on the BB icon button select “View my Profile”

Select the “Show” button next to the heading “PIN Barcode”
To scan someone else’s BBM ID Code: Open BBM Click on the BB icon button select “Invite to BBM”

Select the “Scan a PIN Barcode” option Use your camera to ‘scan’ your new contact’s PIN Barcode!

Conversations
Start a conversation 1. In BlackBerry Messenger, on the Contact list screen, highlight a contact. 2. Press the Menu key. 3. Click Start Conversation. 4. Type a message. 5. Press the Enter key.
Open a conversation Conversations appear in the conversation group and in the main message list. In BlackBerry Messenger, in the conversation group, click a contact.

Availability
Change your availability status If you change your availability status to Unavailable, you still receive BlackBerry® Messenger messages, but you are not notified. 1. In BlackBerry Messenger, on the Contact list screen, press the Menu key. 2. Click My Status. 3. Click a status. 4. If necessary, type a message that contacts can see when they view your contact information. 5. Click OK.
Change your display name 1. In BlackBerry Messenger, on the Contact list screen, press the Menu key. 2. Click Edit My Info. 3. Type a display name. 4. Click OK.
Show when you are on the phone 1. In BlackBerry Messenger, on the Contact list screen, press the Menu key. 2. Click Options. 3. Change the Allow On The Phone presence status field to Yes. To stop showing when you are on the phone, change the Allow On The Phone presence status field to No. 14

Send a text message
1. In the application list, select Messaging 2. Add recipients: Enter phone numbers manually and separate them with a comma, or select them from your contact lists 3. Select the text field and enter your message text. To insert emoticons, press the Option key and select Insert smiley. 4. To send the message, select send
Maps
With google maps you can download maps. It also allows you to drag and zoom in on an area that you want to save. Once you have made your selection, you can download the map right away by simply click on the button. The downloaded maps are saved in a folder called ‘My Places.’
