Description
Engineer and Architect Specifications
The MOM-2 cardcage provides the MXL main unit or remote units with card slots for option modules. Each MOM-2 supplies connection space for either one full-width option module (ALD-2I, CZM-4, NIM-1R, XLD-1) or two half-width option modules (CSM-4, CRM-4, CMI-300, REP-1, NET-7). Note: only one CMI-300 may be used per MXL system. Modules are supplied with card guides.
Interface between optional circuit cards and the MXL system network shall be provided by a MOM-2 expansion cardcage. The MOM-2 shall provide one full-width edge connector type plug-in slots for the addition of the following system option card modules: CZM-4 conventional zone module; CRM-4 controllable relay module; CSM-4 controllable signal module; XLD-1 “X” Series Device Interface; ALD-2I analog loop driver module; CMI-300 CXL modem; NIM-1R network interface module; REP-1 repeater module. The ALD-2I, NIM-1R and the CZM-4 shall each occupy one full slot in the MOM-2 and REP-1, CRM-4, NET-7, CSM-4 and CMI-300, shall each occupy one half slot in the MOM-2. The MOM-2 shall also provide a distribution point for option module power. The MOM-2 shall supply necessary screw terminal connections for any option module field wiring. This shall allow the replacement of modules without the removal of field wiring. The MOM-2 shall be mounted in one of the MXL system backboxes located at the main MXL unit or MXLR remote units or MXL mini-enclosures.
The MOM-2 also provides a means of connecting the option modules to the MXL network. It routes 24V unfiltered/unregulated DC and 5 VDC to power the option modules. The DC is routed to the MOM-2 from the MMB-1 main board or the PSR-1 network supply. Screw terminals are mounted on the MOM-2 to provide easy access for field wiring connections. Screw terminals are also provided for connection to an auxiliary power supply for use with CSM-4 indicating circuits (when additional audible/visual power is required). The MOM-2 mounts in one of the MXL system back-boxes located at the main MXL, MXLR remote units or MXL minienclosures. One MOM-2 may be mounted horizontally in an MSE mini-enclosure. This equipment is approved for operation over the temperature range of 0° and 49°C.
