Yale R 8790, 8791, 8792, 8793, 8794, & 8795 Mortise Devices MORTISE ELECTRIC LOCK INSTALLATION DIAGRAM 80-8470-0090-000 (Rev. A) For use with 8700 Series Electric Mortise Device ELECTRIC LOCK FUNCTIONS 8790 FAIL SAFE Outside trim is locked when power is applied and unlocked when power is removed. Lockset will unlock in the event of power failure. Inside lever is always active. 8794-2 FAIL SAFE Outside and inside trim are locked when power is applied and unlocked when power is removed. Lockset will unlock in the event of power failure. 8791 FAIL SECURE Outside trim is unlocked when power is applied and locked when power is removed. Lockset will lock in the event of power failure. Inside lever is always active. 8795-2 FAIL SECURE Outside and inside trim are unlocked when power is applied and locked when power is removed. Lockset will lock in the event of power failure. LOCK MODULATOR A component used to reduce heat build up on the solenoid during continuous use and also converts AC to DC voltage (included with lock). See Figure 1. See Figure 2a. REX-REQUEST TO EXIT MONITOR Request to exit monitoring is a SPDT switch which monitors the activation of the inside trim. See Figure 2b.
