MOTION ACTIVATED CAMSTICK SKU: CAMSTCIKMA THANK YOU FOR PURCHASING THE MOTION ACTIVATED CAMSTICK Please read this manual before operating the motion activated camstick and keep it handy. The motion activated camstick is designed to be the go-to choice for a camera that is both small and discreet and capable of recording over a long period of time. This easily portable unit sits securely in its stand and can be placed quickly anywhere you need low-profile surveillance. The motion activated camstick foregoes the need for remotes, menus, and excessive buttons. All you need to do is turn the unit on and place it facing the area you want to record. The high-end motion detection sensors will activate automatically whenever they sense motion and record for up to 30 seconds. The rechargeable battery can last up to 10 days in standby and record up to two hours of continuous footage. HOW TO CHARGE THE MOTION ACTIVATED CAMSTICK Using the AC Adapter 1. Plug the AC adapter into a wall outlet 2. Plug the USB cable into the AC adapter 3. Plug the USB cable into the camstcik Using Your PC 1. Plug the USB cable into your PC 2. Plug the USB cable into the camstcik HOW TO PLACE THE MOTION ACTIVATED CAMSTICK 1. Place the camera in the base • Make sure the PIR sensor is on top with the camera on the bottom, as show here: 2. Find a hiding place for the camera in the area you want to monitor 3. Make sure the PIR sensor and camera lens are not obstructed HOW TO TURN ON THE MOTION ACTIVATED CAMSTICK 1. Slide the Power Switch into the ON position HOW TO TURN OFF THE MOTION ACTIVATED CAMSTICK 1. Slide the Power Switch into the OFF position HOW TO RECORD • The motion activated camstick can record video while plugged into and unplugged from a power source 1. Place the camstcik in a hidden location, but be sure the PIR sensor and camera lens are not obstructed • Any motion will activate the PIR sensor and the camstick will automatically start recording video and audio for 30 seconds o The red indicator light will blink once o The green indicator light will blink while recording o The red indicator will blink once while saving the file • After 30 seconds, unless further motion is detected, the camstick will stop recording and return to standby mode • When motion is detected again, the camstick will record again Response Time • If the camstick is plugged into a power source while recording, the response time between motion detection to actual recording will be .5 seconds • If the camstick is operating on battery power only, the response time between motion detection to actual recording will be 2 seconds Auto-Overwrite • When the memory card is full, the camstick will automatically replace the oldest files with the newest files • On a regular basis, cut and paste the files from the camstick into a folder on your PC HOW TO RESET THE TIME AND DATE STAMP (Windows Only) 1. Connect the camstick to your PC using the USB Cable 2. Push the “SET” button and slide the Power Switch into the ON position • The green light will turn on 3. Go to http://www.mgidownloads.com/ 4. Click the “Software/” link 5. Click on "camstickma.exe" • The file will save to your browser’s download directory, by default this is the Downloads folder, and you can skip to step 7. 6. Go to Start > Computer > Downloads > Right click camstickma.exe > Copy 9. Click “OK” 10. Click “OK” 7. Go to Start > Computer > Removable Disk > Right click the area beside the DCIM flder > Paste • camstickma.exe should now be in the root folder of the camstick 11. Slide the switch to OFF and unplug the camstick from the computer 8. (Double) click camstick.exe RETRIEVE THE FILES TO YOUR PC 1. Plug the device into your PC using the USB cable. 2. Press and hold the “SET” button and slide the Power Switch into the ON position 3. Release the “SET” button when the green indicator light comes on 4. Locate “Removable Disk” inside the (My) Computer folder. • AutoPlay Removable Disk > Open folder to view files Or… • Go to Start > Computer > Removable Disk 5. Open the Removable Disk drive. 6. Open the VIDEO folder. • The videos are saved in automatically created folders such as “13050700”. • These folders are named according to the date and video recording order. • The first two numbers are the year, the third and fourth numbers are the month, and the fifth and sixth numbers are the day, and the last two numbers are the order the videos were created. o For example, a folder named 13050700 mean that the videos saved in this folder were created May 7, 2013 7. Double click the folder containing videos you want to watch • The files are named with the exact time (in military time) that the videos are created. o For example, 13-07-11 means the video was recorded at 01:07:11PM 8. Double click the file you want to view. • VLC Player is recommended for watching videos. TROUBLESHOOTING SPECIFICATIONS THE DEVICE WON’T TURN ON • Charge the device for at least 4 hours before the first use. • Make sure the charging cable is securely inserted into the device and into the power source. The A/C adapter might be bad. MY COMPUTER DOESN’T RECOGNIZE THE DEVICE • Unplug the device from your PC and reboot the device. • Unplug the device from your PC and reboot your PC. • Try using a different USB slot on your PC. • Replace the USB cable. THE SOUND OR VIDEO IS UNCLEAR • The device needs charging.
