Mounting the BANDIT III™ in an Equipment Rack
T
he BANDIT III chassis is designed to sit on a tabletop or a desktop. However, you can mount the BANDIT III in a standard 19-inch equipment rack.
Encore Networks, Inc., has mounting brackets that you can attach to the BANDIT III chassis. The brackets allow the chassis to be mounted in a standard equipment rack. The BANDIT III rackmount kit (B30RM) includes two (2) mounting brackets (Figure 8-1) and eight (8) screws to attach the brackets to the BANDIT III chassis. The kit does not include screws for the equipment rack or other hardware for the equipment rack. Note: Use of the BANDIT III rackmount kit (B30RM) requires 2U (3.0” in height) of equipment rack space. To obtain the rackmount kit (B30RM) for the BANDIT III chassis, contact your Encore Networks, Inc., sales representative.
Figure 8-1. Mounting Brackets for BANDIT III Chassis The environmentally hardened BANDIT III chassis has four (4) screw holes on each side. These correspond to the four (4) holes on the side of a mounting bracket. Use the screws from the packet of mounting hardware to attach a bracket onto each side of an environmentally hardened BANDIT III. Figure 8-2 shows a BANDIT III with mounting brackets attached to it.
