This will store them and save them for printing • Register for an online photo album account by clicking Register Now, which is on the right-hand side of your computer screen • Follow the on-screen instructions to register your details www.o2.co.uk Using the video player • You’re now ready to start transferring pictures from your mobile phone to your new online album Step by step • Press the joystick inwards • Scroll to My stuff (the folder symbol), then press the joystick again • Scroll down to Videos, then press the joystick inwards. Enter their email addresses to send them a personal invitation, which also enables them to order any of your photos • You can also use the online photo album to save and print any photos that are stored on your PC. Press Select • Remember that video clips can only be viewed on compatible mobile phones and PCs • Mobile phone networks restrict the maximum size of MMS messages, so you may not be able to send clips that last for more than a few seconds • You may be asked to set an Expiry time, which is the length of time your network will try to deliver the message. Use the joystick to highlight Maximum, then press Select • Your message will then be sent. This is called ‘standby’ mode “A special moment that you want to capture and share” • You can lock the keypad on your phone by pressing and holding the # key Camera lens on back Playing games This phone has a built-in 1.3 megapixel camera for highquality pictures that are good enough to print. The addictive PC version of ‘Worms’ has been adapted for the S65, letting you deploy a range of implausible weapons against a highly-trained army of worms. There’s also an impressive rally driving game and a digital version of Battleships. Step by step • Press the joystick inwards, then use it to highlight Surf & fun (the globe symbol) • Press the joystick inwards • Games will be highlighted. Press Select. • The pre-loaded games will be displayed • Highlight one of the games; for example, Siemens 3D Rally • Follow the on-screen instructions to play • You’ll find that most games use the keypad to control the action; for example, the rally game uses the 4 and 6 keys to steer left and right • To end the game, use the on-screen options or press the red ‘handset’ key • When you first switch on your phone, you may be asked if you want to set the time and date. You can also do this later by following the instructions below • Press the joystick inwards, then use it to highlight Setup (the spanner symbol) • Press the joystick inwards • Move the joystick downwards to highlight Clock setup • Press Select. (The right-hand ‘soft’ key) • Time/date will be highlighted. Press Select • The current time and date will be shown. To change them, press Change • Use the keypad to enter the date, month and year, then enter the time in 24-hour format (hours, minutes and seconds) • Press OK • Press the red ‘handset’ key to clear the screen when you’ve finished Adding numbers to the phone book • From standby mode, press the joystick downwards (towards the bottom of the phone) • New entry will be highlighted. Press the joystick inwards • Use the keypad to enter the person’s name and any other details you want to store. (Use the joystick to move up and down the screen) • Press Save • Press the red ‘handset’ key to clear the screen • Press the joystick inwards to load the game • To find the photos you’ve saved, press the joystick and select My stuff, then press the joystick again. If your photos are saved in the phone’s memory, highlight the Pictures folder and press the joystick once more. If your photos are saved on the MultiMediaCard, highlight MultiMediaCard and press the joystick, then highlight the Pictures folder and press the joystick again • Once you’ve installed the memory card, you can use it to store pictures, video clips and other information. Remember that any programs, pictures, sound files and videos that are saved on the memory card will only be available when the memory card is fitted • Open the protective cover • Slide the card into the slot, making sure that the diagonal corner of the card is at the top right as you face the front of the phone tip • Always use the Eject card option or switch the phone off when removing the memory card. You may damage the information stored on the card if you don’t do this • Before removing the card, press the joystick inwards, then press Options. Use the joystick to highlight Eject card, then press Select. You can now remove the card safely Using Bluetooth “Bluetooth is a great way of connecting two devices without wires” Using the mobile internet Sending a photo to a friend You can send photos to almost any mobile phone. If your friend doesn’t have a camera phone, they’ll receive a text message telling them how to pick your message up from the web. Press Yes • After a few seconds, you’ll be connected to the mobile internet. • Press Options followed by Select to visit your network’s home page • Press up or down on the joystick to navigate around the screen, then press the joystick inwards to select a linked page • To exit, press the red ‘handset’ key tip • You can also connect by pressing the joystick inwards and scrolling to Surf & fun (the globe symbol), then pressing the joystick again and selecting Internet • When you’re browsing, quickly pressing the red ‘handset’ key will take you back to the previous page • Choosing a GPRS service makes sure you’re only charged for the amount of information you send and receive, not for the time you’re connected • Press the joystick inwards, then use it to highlight Setup (the spanner symbol) • Other devices, such as compatible PCs and mobile phones, can now send information to you • Press the joystick inwards, then scroll down to highlight Connectivity • When someone tries to send you a file, you’ll be asked if you want to accept it. You’ll also be asked if you want to remember the sender’s details in a list of ‘known devices’ for next time • Press Select • Scroll down to highlight Bluetooth. If there is no tick next to it, press Swit. on • To make sure that other people can connect to you, press the joystick inwards and check that Visib. to others has a tick next to it. If not, scroll down and press Change, then select Always visible • Files that have been received by Bluetooth can be seen by pressing the left-hand ‘soft’ key Accessories Bluetooth PC Adapter If your PC doesn't have Bluetooth, it’s easy to give it a Bluetooth connection.
