Introducing a Pre-Terminated, Plug & Play 10 GbE Copper System The MRJ21 XG system is designed to support agility, availability and efficiency in today’s modern data center. Via its industry leading MRJ21 backbone connectivity and RJ45 presentation platforms, the MRJ21 XG can support 10 GbE (10 Gigabit Ethernet) throughput in all architectures where copper cabling is required. This pre-terminated system enables the data center manager to quickly add additional capacity or services whilst guaranteeing data throughput performance 100% of the time. Due to the increasing penetration of 10GBASE-T switches and blades in the data center, the need to quickly deploy a 10 GbE copper system with minimal white space consumption has become critical. The MRJ21 XG answers this challenge in 3 ways: 1. Space Saving – The unique MRJ21 XG trunk cable typically consumes 5% less volume than most other zone cabling solutions and typically up to 37% less than traditional twisted pair systems.
Product Features • Pre-Connectorized System The unique MRJ21 XG plug design supports 4 separate 10 Gb/s transmission channels over a single trunk cable, giving guaranteed throughput performance and quick installation • Designed to fit UCP Directly connecting to UCP compatible Quick-Fit cassettes allows up to 32 RJ45 ports (8 per cassette) to be presented in a 19 inch panel • 48 RJ45 Ports in 1U For high density copper cross-connect applications a fixed 48 port 1U panel is available • Shielded Cable Gives the highest level of signal immunity to cross-talk in the lowest cross-sectional area • Unique 45 Degree MRJ21 Plug Design The MRJ21 XG trunk cable can be ordered with a plug supporting 45 degree rear cable entry allowing bend radius maintenance in space constrained installations • Supports Managed Connectivity AMPTRAC enabled cassette and 19 inch panel available for integration into TE Connectivity’s Network Analyzers and ICM software.
A lower cable volume deployed in the data center can reduce containment costs, and present less of an obstruction to the airflow entering and exiting the servers and switches. This has the ability to positively impact both initial CAPEX and on-going OPEX expenditures. 2. Density – The MRJ21 XG system can offer 8 RJ45 ports, for switch uplinks, in a Quick-Fit cassette (UCP footprint), or 48 RJ45 ports in a fixed 1U panel configuration. This allows server and switch specific designs, with minimal wasted space in the data center and maximum rack efficiency. 3. Throughput – The MRJ21 XG offers unparalleled 10 Gb/s throughput, supporting Cloud and Virtualized environments. The MRJ21 XG system has the versatility to be deployed in traditional cross-connect architectures, office LAN environments and the latest Server to Core Switch configurations. Additionally, it can support all data rates up to and including 10 Gb/s, giving future proofed connectivity to environments where 1 GbE servers may be substituted for 10 GbE at a later date.
