Ethernet over VDSL CPE to CPE (NT/LT) modems Product Overview The OptiSwitch EoV CPE is available as NT side (Network Termination) and an LT side (Line Termination). Unlike in Ethernet, where one can directly connect two computers directly using a cable, in the world of telephony, one can't connect two telephones to each other with a cable. In telephony, one side is the NT side (Home unit) and the other is the LT side (Switch side), hence only the configuration of NT-to-LT can work. This allows for the installation of a CPE-to-CPE configuration. Using the CPE/LT to CPE/NT option, a highspeed Point-To-Point connection over a single telephone cable pair can be created by means of a simple, low cost, unmanaged modems, which reads the configuration and set-up parameters from an on-board memory chip. ETSI 997/998 standard CPE modems up to 1.2Km The CPE modems comply with VDSL standards – ETSI plans 997 and ETSI plan 998. When configured to comply with the frequencies allocated by these standards the EoV is limited to 4Mbps, full duplex. Long range CPE modems up to 2.4km - Power boost for extended reach A special CPE long range modems delivers a long-range VDSL transmission, which can reach the distance of 2.4Km with 4Mbps, full duplex traffic. This Long range CPE that uses a higher PSD on an upload channel between 0.6 Mhz and 2.0 and a download channel between 2.3 Mhz and 4.8 Mhz.
