Power off PC Find a PCI slot Remove the bracket Switch the SW1 to SW4 for the hardware interface of port 1 to port 8 Insert MSB-118 into the PCI slot Tighten the MSB-118 with a screw SW1 to SW4 Setting SW1/SW2/SW3/SW4 are used to configure the hardware interface mode of Port 1 to Port 8. If the RS-485 is selected, the driver can configure the DTR pin to enable the transmitter for RS-485 half duplex flow control. MSB-118 uses Active High mode for RS-485 hardware flow control if RS-485 is selected. Remember to switch the SW1~SW4 for the hardware interface of each port. After all the settings are complete, click the Detect Crystal Frequency button and if the hardware and driver are installed correctly, it will show the correct Frequency of 18.4320 MHz Windows NT4 Driver Installation 1. Run “Install_Serial.exe” from the \MSB-118\WinNT4 subdirectory on the CD 2. When the install application start, click next to continue 3. Ensure “Install” is selected, then click Next to continue 4. Click OK to accept the license agreement 5. The system will install the driver and start it. The ports are immediately ready for use Windows 95 Driver Installation 1. The system will detect the device and ask which driver to install. Select “Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacture” and click OK 2. Specify the path “\MSB-118” subdirectory on the CD and click OK 3. The system will install the OX16PCI954 device and OX16C954 device 4. Once the main drivers are installed, the system installs the UART ports automatically Window 98 Driver Installation 1. The system will detect the device and start the “Add new hardware” wizard. Click Next to continue 2. The system will suggest that it searched for the best driver for the device. Click Next to confirm 3. Point the wizard at the path “\MSB-118” subdirectory on the CD. 4. Once the system found the driver, click Next to continue 5. After the system install the OX16PCI954 and OX16C954 driver, click Finish 6. Once the main drivers are installed, the system installs the UART ports automatically Windows 2000 Driver Installation 1.The system will detect the device and ask which driver to install. Click Next 2. Select “Search for a suitable driver for my device” and click Next Check the “Specify a location” box. Click Next 3. Enter the path “\MSB-118” to search and click OK 4. The system will search for a driver. When it finds it, click Next. The files will be copied and the driver installed. Click Finish. 5. Once the PCI devices are installed, the system will install the UART ports automatically.
