MT. SAN ANTONIO COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT Addendum No. 1 February 18, 2015 Building 23 Renovation Bid No. 3009 To All Bidders: All bidders shall acknowledge receipt of this Addendum on the bid form. Acknowledgement of receipt of this Addendum shall be taken as prime facie evidence that, prior to submission of this bid, the bidder was fully cognizant of all provisions of the Addendum and of all work and conditions affected thereby. FAILURE TO ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT OF THIS ADDENDUM MAY BE CAUSE TO REJECT BID AS BEING NON-RESPONSIVE. In case of conflict among Bid Documents, Contract Documents and this Addendum, this Addendum shall govern. This Addendum forms a part of the Bid Documents and modifies the original bid documents for the above-referenced project. The following changes, additions, or deletes shall be made. All other terms and conditions remain the same. DRAWINGS: Item No. 01: At Drawing A-100, MODIFY General Note 5. Window blinds to be removed but not retained for reinstallation. New window blinds NIC. Item No. 02 At Drawing A-100, In Rooms 1125 and 1145, ADD General Note 6: Sawcut/trench concrete floor as required for electrical installation as indicated on Drawing E-101, Note 7. Reference SK-2, dated 02/16/2015, attached herewith. Item No. 03: At Drawing A-101, MODIFY General Note 4. Window blinds to be removed but not retained for reinstallation. New window blinds NIC. Item No. 06 At Drawing A-103, ADD General Note 6, as follows: “New Ceilings: Height to be 9’0” a.f.f. Bid No. 3009 Addendum No. 1 Page 2 of 6 February 24, 2015 Item No. 07: At Sheet A-401 – Door Schedule, Change Doors 17 and 30 from door type A to Door Type E. Door Type E has a sidelight, as indicated in drawing SK-1, dated 02/16/2015, attached herewith. RESPONSES TO RFI’S Interlog Construction RFI #B001 dated 02/11/2015 Reference Drawing T-002, Detail 12/T-003 Item No. 08 Q: Confirm the Keynote #2/T-002, Contractor is required to install (5) accessible parking signs and (1) van accessible parking sign. These (6) signs are wall mounted with standard size of plate. No handicap emblem on the parking space. Please confirm it. A: Confirmed. Interlog Construction RFI #B002 dated 02/11/2015 Reference Drawing A-100, Legend Item No. 09 Q: Verify scope of work. Per pre-bid jobwalk, bidders were instructed to remove the existing carpet, VCT, wall base and mastics. However, the demo legend on A-100, the removing carpet, VCT, wall base and mastics is not in contract. Please verify it. A: Removal of carpet, resilient flooring, base and mastic required by GC except in rooms 2100 and 2125. This supersedes notes on A-100. Interlog Construction RFI #B003 dated 02/11/2015 Reference Drawing A-101, Sign Types Item No. 10 Q: Verify sign types: 1. Under sign types, “#1 Room Name” does not apply to any room on the plan. Seems like the above note is referring to G/N #3/A-101. 2. Signage Notes with 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2G, 4 and 5 are not applicable for this project. Please verify it. A: 1. Sign type 1 is governed by General Note 3 in lieu of showing the symbol at every room. 2. Correct. Bid No. 3009 Addendum No. 1 Page 3 of 6 February 24, 2015 Interlog Construction RFI #B004 dated 02/11/2015 Reference Drawing A-100 Item No. 11 Q: Verify scope of works. On demo plan A-100, the walls between room #1101 & #1105, room #1102 & #1105, room #1105 and #1150 should be removed to receive new DIRTT wall per A-101. A: Correct. Walls facing corridor 1105 as shown on A-101 will receive DIRTT walls. Interlog Construction RFI #B005 dated 02/11/2015 Reference Drawing A-100 Item No. 12 Q: Verify scope of works. Demo’d and salvaged window #1A on A-100 should be re-installed at window #1 on A-101 per key note #1/A-101 then need to revise key note #1/A-100, “Remove wall for (N) window” to “Remove wall for (ER) window.” A: Correct. The window referenced in keynote 1 on A-100 is to be a relocated window, not a new window. Interlog Construction RFI #B006 dated 02/11/2015 Reference Drawing A-401 & A-100, Door Schedule Item No. 13 Q: Clarify door schedule. Door #22, #23, #25, #26, #27, #28, #29, #31, #32 are remained on demo plan, A-100. However, the door schedule on A-401 calls for new doors; or new doors and frames; or new hardware. Do we have to demo the above doors? Please clarify. A: A-401 Door Schedule governs. If new door is called for, then demo of existing is required. See also note on Door Schedule: “For existing doors (either in current or new location) modify hardware per schedule.” Bid No. 3009 Addendum No. 1 Page 4 of 6 February 24, 2015 Interlog Construction RFI #B007 dated 02/11/2015 Detail Reference Tubular Daylighting Device, Section 08625 Item No. 14 Q: Verify scope of works. Spec 08625 calls roof mounted “Tubular Daylighting Device.” There is no indicated any plan showing the device location. Is this a scope of work for this project? If so, please provide its location and details with quantity. A: Location of skylights is shown on A-103, keynote 3. Skylights are an Additive Alternate. Interlog Construction RFI #B008 dated 02/11/2015 Reference Drawing A-103 Item No. 15 Q: Advise for Instruction: 1. Keynote #1 & #2/A-103 called projectors and motorized recessed projector screens at room #1125, #1145, #3100; and contractor should install those units on the ceiling. 2. Please provide details for anchoring (Hanging), seismic, and prep for recessed projector screen on the ceiling. Also details for J-box locations for the projectors and motorized screens on E-plan. A: Provide vertical and diagonal ½” diameter threated rod, unistrut, or similar support, anchored to structure above, as required by screen manufacturer. Modify T-bar as required. J-Box locations to be coordinated with Owner during construction. Reference Advantage Electrol Specification, attached herewith, for general mounting information; specifics for screen sizes, etc. will be provided to the successful low bidder at a later date. Interlog Construction RFI #B009 dated 02/11/2015 Reference Drawing A-101, Modify Mill Work Item No. 16 Q: Advise for instruction: 1. Key note #5 & #5A/A-101 called reconstructing mill work at room #2125. 2. Please provide details for extending and shortening countertops with actual numbers on DWG. Bid No. 3009 Addendum No. 1 Page 5 of 6 A: February 24, 2015 Extend counter 2’-6” per keynote #5. Provide ¾” vertical plywood support similar to that used elsewhere in this room. Provide 2-3/4” triangular plywood gusset plates with 12” legs to brace the vertical panel. Interlog Construction RFI #B0010 dated 02/11/2015 Reference Drawing E-101, Fire Alarm Contractor Item No. 17: Q: Advise for instruction: 1. R/N #4/E-101 called for performing fire alarm work by college approved/designated sub-contractor. 2. Please advise the approved/designated fire alarm contractor’s contact information. A: The fire alarm system is Edwards EST3. Scope of work under this bid (#3009) is to modify fire alarm system based on the new floor plan layout. Work to be performed by certified Edwards installer. Interlog Construction RFI #B011 dated 02/11/2015 Reference Drawing M-100 Item No. 18: Q: Verify contracted working area. Per DWG M-100, contractor should demo rigid duct and install new duct above the ceiling on room #4114. As we demo the rigid duct and install new duct above t-bar ceiling, we may demo the main t-bar grid to access the area above the ceiling. Would you include additional new ceiling at room #4114 in the bid proposing area. Please advise. A: Contractor to reinstall portions of ceiling removed or replace existing ceiling entirely per new ceiling specification if needed to be removed to accomplish the HVAC scope. See A-900 for details and notes governing new and altered ceilings. Interlog Construction RFI #B012 dated 02/12/2015 Reference Drawing A-102 Item No. 19: Q: Verify RFP covering area. Per G/N #2/A-102, it calls for FRP on walls. Please indicate which wall needs to be installed FRP covering with details. Please advise. A: General Note 2, A-102 refers to patching where FRP or other items are removed. Does not require new FRP. Per K/N, #5/A-103, it calls for Insul-Quilt plenum barrier acoustical insulation blanket above each non-full height wall. This barrier should install above all DIRTT walls that are not in this contract. Do we have to include this barrier installation scope in our bid? Please advise. A: Yes. Schedules, attached herewith.
