Overview The Maipu Carrier-class Wireless Access Controller Series is a high-grade wireless AC specifically designed for carriers to operate wireless broadband services. The AC can be conveniently deployed in any existing layer-2 or layer-3 network together with the fit AP. In a layered network, the AC can be deployed in the access layer, convergence layer, and core Metropolitan Area Network (MAN).This AC + AP networking mode transfers the dense wireless network and security processing functions to the wireless AC and the AP only serves as the device to transmit and receive wireless data. This mode dramatically simplifies the management and configuration functions of the AP. The Maipu Carrier-class Wireless Access Controller Series product adopts advanced network processing technology and switching bus technology with
powerful
hardware
forwarding
capability
and
flexible
protocol
processing capability. It enhances a range of functions, including user management,
network
security,
billing,
and
network
management.
Therefore, It is not only has the features of Ethernet being economic and mature, but also has the carrier-class user management and operating capabilities. The Maipu Carrier-class Wireless Access Controller Series product provides a wide variety of Internet access modes with multiple user access methods, and many network protocols and flexible billing modes. It also provides flexible interface configuration and well-developed
network
security
mechanisms, especially those to tackle large traffic data attacks on the device. In addition, it has out-of-band network management with security measures and abundant network management modes to facilitate network management.

Key Features Unified Deployment and Centralized Management The Maipu Carrier-class Wireless Access Controller Series suits large-size and medium-sized wireless networks. When a wireless AC networks with a fit AP, we only need to set up a configuration template on the wireless AC for APs with the same attributes. When the AP starts, it automatically downloads the latest configuration file from the wireless AC. Therefore, The Maipu Carrier-class Wireless Access Controller Series truly achieves the features of zero configuration, maintenance-free capability, plug-andplug, and automatic updates. Carrier-class Modular Rack Structure The Maipu Carrier-class Wireless Access Controller Series is a carrier-class wireless controller which has power and flexible wireless user access and fit AP management capabilities in compliance with the carrier-class product design concept. Standard CAPWAP Tunnel Protocol The Maipu Carrier-class Wireless Access Controller Series supports centralized management based on CAPWAP protocol. Large-capacity Access The Maipu Carrier-class Wireless Access Controller Series is capable of managing max 12,288 fit APs and providing access for up to 768 K concurrent users. Centralized or Local Forwarding Mode The Maipu Carrier-class Wireless Access Controller Series supports the centralized forwarding mode of CAPWAP tunnel and the local forwarding mode of the access points. As the tunnel mechanism is adopted between the wireless AC and the fit AP, all the wireless terminals seem to be directly connected to the wireless AC. You need not change the wired network configuration on adding or removing a wireless terminal. The wired network no longer restricts roaming of a wireless terminal between APs. Wireless Resource Management The Maipu Carrier-class Wireless Access Controller Series supports automatic frequency and power adjustment. It makes the network deployment much easier through the automatic planning of RF. Meanwhile, it supports the bandwidth control according to the user or the user group. Wireless Security The AC + AP system can automatically detect illegal devices and promptly report them to the network management center. It can automatically protect the wireless network against attacks from illegal devices. Multiple Backup Modes The Maipu Carrier-class Wireless Access Controller Series supports both 1+1 and N+1 hot backup between devices.
