Multi-Channel IP-Decoder with Integrated TV Modulator General The Multi-Channel MPEG-2/DVB Decoder is a Carrier Class solution for Professional Operators. It is build around a flexible chassis hosting modules allowing for a range of different configurations tailored to specific customer needs. The product supports reception, descrambling, decoding with composite PAL output of MPEG-2 encoded signals. Each channel can be fitted with an analogue VHF/UHF modulator. With the VHF/UHF modulator the output can be inserted directly into the local analogue cable networks. As an option, the VHF/UHF modulator can be fitted with a NICAM or A2 encoder. Channels to be decoded can be selected dynamically from a built in web management. The design allows for both descrambling of services scrambled with AES, and alternatively using DVB common interface for each channel. The chassis can support hot-swap power and fans. Application The Multi-Channel decoder is a dense solution with professional quality to feed analogue cable TV networks. The unique modular approach enables input/output options to be tailored for specific customer requirements. The product allows among other IP-centric service providers to offer analogue packages in parallel with their digital offering as shown in the following figure, eliminating the need for distributing the channels in analogue format in the core network.
