Maxxwave is at the forefront of fiber technology. The new Maxxwave single and multi-mode fiber modules enable uncompromised high-speed routing with our new fiber solutions. The modules are small-form factor pluggable for bi-directional serial optical data communications. These modules work with thousands of SFP based devices. Now incorporating DDM functions, you can obtain fiber power, temperature and diagnostics of fiber loss right from your supported DDM equipment. These modules also work on equipment that do not support DDM functions. The first single-mode fiber module operates at nominal wavelengths of 1310nm and the second one operates at 1550nm. By using wavelength division multiplexing, only a single fiber strand is needed for full duplex communication.

The transmitter section uses a multiple quantum well laser and is a Class 1 laser compliant according to International Safety Standard IEC 60825. The receiver section uses an integrated GaAs detector preamplifier (IDP) mounted in an optical header and a limiting post-amplifier IC.
