Product Data Sheet Standard Features Overview The UltraView Recorder 40 Series is part of a family of multifunction video recorders that uses the latest and most powerful H.264-SVC compression available which provides improved video quality, flexibility and efficient bandwidth usage (see 'H'264-SVC compression'). This all-in-one device is very easy to configure and combines both analog and IP video inputs with digital video encoding, decoding, streaming with internal or external storage and video content analysis. The UltraView Recorder 40 is part of EVP (Enterprise Video Platform) UltraView product line, which is a cohesive family of precision engineered equipment, designed to help protect people, property and critical infrastructure. Central to the system are the video boards and their ability of analog encoding and decoding: the UltraView Recorder 40 offers 8 or 12 encoding channels only, whereby the UltraView Recorder 40D offers encoding and decoding to each of the channels independently. Furthermore, each chassis can manage as well 12 IP camera inputs simultaneously. Another benefit of the video boards is their programmability that accepts extensions and even new compression methods with only a simple software upgrade. Additionally, internal (JBOD/RAID0) and external storage via Central Storage Server or other UltraView devices, PTZ camera control (pan-tilt-zoom), alarm inputs and outputs, IP-Camera support along with embedded content analytics (activity detection and camera/system health monitoring) make this one of the most versatile units in its class. The UltraView Recorder 40 is the video acquisition, data collection and streaming device for the EVP platform. It is seamlessly integrated via the Video Operating System (VOS) with other EVP devices. This ensures all devices meet the needs of both fixed and mobile platform video applications, as well as to provide an integration platform for access control, energy management and other industry specific functions. H.264-SVC compression The H.264-SVC compression delivers the best image quality for the bandwidth available in the industry. Unlike other H.264 or MPEG4 compression, Recorder 40's codec features true multistreaming which allows a single encoding process to provide multiple simultaneous combinations (profiles) of image size (D1, CIF, QCIF) to be extracted at various frame rates. This flexibility allows the customer much greater control managing and optimizing bandwidth needs across the network. Furthermore, the scalable H.264-SVC stream doubles the number of simultaneous video streams that can be displayed on client workstation compared to other H.264 compression schemes. Unlike traditional dual streaming which requires two independent encoders that produce one MPEG4-ASP stream and typically one MJPEG stream frequently with severe frame rate limitations, Recorder 40's H.264-SVC scalable multi- E E E E H.264-SVC (Scalable Video Coding) includes - Latest, most advanced compression standard - Better image quality than MPEG4-ASP - True multi-streaming - More capabilities than typical H.264 implementations via image/frame rate scalability - Reduced bandwidth (15-30%) and better image quality compared to MPEG4-ASP - Same quality from PTZ as from stationary cameras A scalable network surveillance solution - 8-12 independently configurable analog ports PLUS accepts up to 12 IP camera inputs - Hardware encoding only (Recorder 40) or encoding/decoding (Recorder 40D) unit - 2 or 4 hard drives for internal recording - All ports simultaneously support 25/30 FPS (D1) - Simultaneous video content analysis on all ports Simple to configure and install - Remote system-wide configuration with easy-to-use software - All-in-one device: encode/decode, stream and record for both analog and IP inputs - Front panel access to all ports and interfaces - Compact 2U-19'' rack mountable form factor Leverage the power of the EVP VOS - Common Video Operating System (VOS) allows all UltraView EVP devices to work together - Distributed intelligence for more flexibility - Simultaneous local and centralized storages - Supports video protection, video redirection (device to device) and authentication - Supports IP camera integration and management streaming technology provides more than 6 simultaneous stream combinations of frame rate and image size for multi-cast or unicast networks without limitation with a single encoder. This allows support for multiple simultaneous live, recorded and video analytic profiles. Live viewing streams may need different profiles for restricted bandwidth clients versus less restricted bandwidth client workstations. Recording streams may need different profiles whenever local high density and lower density centralized storages are combined in a single system. Additional stream profiles may be required to meet the needs of PDA video transmission as well as to feed advanced video analytic algorithms.
