Quick Installation Guide for Mac OS X Setting Video Source…
MyTV/X is a native OS X television viewing and capture application and is designed exclusively for use with Eskape Labs TV and capture products running on OS X equipped Macs. We recommend using the latest version of OS X, v10.1.5 or later.
Upon launching MyTV/X the unified viewing/control panel window opens. A blue viewing screen indicates a healthy USB device; it also means the video source selected is not receiving a video signal.
OS 9.X compatible software can be found on the other CD ROM that came with your MyTV, MyTV2GO or MyCapture II purchase. Installation and use of this alternative software can be found in the Hardware Setup Guide and online manual.
Application Software Installation…
Enter User Name and Password and select OK.
You will be asked if you'd like to customize the installation. We advise selection of "Easy" install for all but the most advance users. Select the Install Button.
The Video tab shows all of the basic video controls. The Source setting lists the supported video inputs. Select an active video source (such as Tuner input) to view the live video signal. The Mode setting is used to chose the video standard. The options are NTSC, PAL and SECAM.
Insert the MyTV/X CD into the CD-ROM drive of your OS X Mac.
The installation will complete allowing you now to install your Eskape Labs device.
Select Continue on the Software Installation Introduction screen.
Install your Eskape Labs MyTV, MyTV2Go or MyCapture II USB device … Following the instructions provided in the Hardware Setup Guide, install your Eskape Labs hardware. When your USB device is installed, you are ready to run MyTV/X and use your Eskape Labs USB TV and or Capture device..
Double click on the CD-ROM icon that appears on the OS X desktop to reveal the contents of the CD. Double Click on the MyTV/X Software Install.mpkg file to install MyTV/X and associated OS X drivers.
Launching MyTV/X… MyTV/X application icon can be found in the Mac OS X Applications folder. Select the drive location for your install.
Double click on the MyTV/X icon to launch the application.
The other settings on the Video tab should be familiar to all and needing no explanation.
Watching TV with MyTV/X … After launching MyTV/X, click the Red close button to close the application, or minimize MyTV/X by clicking the Yellow minimize button. Once closed, you can re-open MyTV/X by clicking the MyTV icon in the Dock, then in the Menu bar click Devices and MyTV (or MyCaptureII or MyTV2Go if you are using these devices). MyTV/X will then re-open. MyTV and MyTV2GO have three video inputs: TV tuner, Composite and SVideo. Composite and/or S-Video sources should be selected when a video device (VCR or DVD) is connected to the corresponding input on your Eskape Labs
Note: Authorization is needed to initiate install. You will be asked for your administration password (the password selected when you originally installed OS X and/or when you initially booted your OS X system).

channel tuning and reception controls.
Window Settings...
Tuning FM radio (on models equipped with FM) …
When satisfied with your video settings, you may wish to collapse the control panel, thereby maximizing video size while minimizing desktop usage. Simply select the collapse arrow aside the control panel.
To change to FM radio (on Eskape models equipped with FM radio), under Mode select FM Radio. Enter the FM radio channel by either entering the channel number (for example: 102.3) then hitting the enter key, or use the up arrow or down arrow via mouse or keyboard.
The Recording indicator will appear in the bottom of the window. Selecting Stop Recording will stop the capture and the movie will then be written to file.
In order to receive channels correctly, MyTV/X needs to know the Country and reception Mode. Set the Country as needed. Set the Mode to Antenna if receiving television over analog broadcast antenna; set to Cable if receiving television signal from cable supplier. Note : the Country list is limited to those countries whose broadcast standard is compatible with the tuner type in the active TV hardware (e.g. with an NTSC tuner type, only countries broadcasting the NTSC standard are listed). Note : Your cable supplier doesn't often make clear the type of cable system, IRC or HRC, they use for broadcasting. Try both and you'll soon discover which it is.
To bring back the Control tabs, select the collapse arrow again.
Audio Settings… Enable Audio must be selected in order to hear the audio from the tuner or other source. The settings for Input Device will be system dependent but in most cases Default or Built-in audio controller will be the setting. The Input Source most often will be External microphone/Line-in. If using a USB audio device (such as an iMic), selecting it here will be in order.
By default, MyTV/X will save captured movies to the Movies folder in OS X's Home directory. If you wish to save to another folder do so in the browser window that opens. In addition the View window is scalable - with the mouse pointer over the bottom right corner of the window click and drag to the desired size. In order to toggle between 320x240 and 640x480 video window sizes select the green window control button.
One will work; the other won't (at least not very well). Then click the Scan button to start scanning for channels on your TV system. Scan will automate the selection of active channels. When complete, your channel list will contain ALL channels for which MyTV/X detected signal strength sufficient to produce an image.
In order to set the video view window to full screen mode select Full Screen Mode from the File menu.
Volume may be controlled via the volume slider on this tab or more efficiently by using keyboard input via the right/left arrow keys.
Selecting the Channel Up/Down selector changes channels up or down, one channel at a time. More importantly and perhaps more easily, keyboard entry of the up/down arrows keys provides channel changing as well. The Skip Channel feature allows for exclusion of selected channel when changing via keyboard
Capturing Video… To capture video, select the Record tab and click Start Recording. The button will change to Stop Recording. The video in the view window will be digitized and spooled to memory/disk.
Enjoy!
Note: While recording, the video in the view window will slow, updating only about 5 frames per second. The movie being digitized is being captured at the video device’s maximum frame rate. To preserve CPU processing power for capturing video, the view window is only updated 5 times per second.
