N6123 NVR QUICK START The N6123 Network Video Recorder (NVR) is designed to record over 400 hours of video-over-IP stream. The unit can record from any SVSi Encoder (N1000, N2000, N3000, or V-Series) and uses any SVSi Decoder in the same series for playback. Recordings can be converted to .mp4 or .mov files for easy transfer to other systems. The N6123 recording and playback durations reflect the compression capabilities of the Encoder/ Decoder used. For example, the economical N1000 Series is an in-room solution and offers no compression, while the N3000 Series provides H.264 advanced video compression. Estimated recording times are as follows: N1000: 4.5 hours (880 Mbps/uncompressed) N2000: 43 hours (100 Mbps/JPEG 2000 compressed) N3000: 434 hours (10 Mbps/H.264 compressed) Note: The 4K Ultra HD products (N2151/N2251) are supported in compressed mode only. Note: To continue with the configuration steps on the back of this page, please download N-Able (SVSi’s free device manage software) at http://svsiav.com/support/resources/software if you’ve not already done so. Logging In for the First Time Connect the N6123 to the video network using the RJ45 gigabit Ethernet port on the back of the unit. Once connected, open N-Able and click the Unit Management tab. Click the Auto Discover button to find the NVR on your network. Locate your newly-discovered device in the Unit Management tab’s list. Double-click the device name to display the unit’s Settings page (shown at right). The defaults for the username and password are admin and password. Configuration Considerations • • • • In N1000 mode, you can only record OR playback one stream at a time. In N2000 mode, you can record up to two streams (dual sync) or record one stream while playing back another. In N3000 mode, you can record up to ten streams and playback up to ten streams simultaneously. The streams can be asynchronous. On the Settings page, you can choose an alternate audio stream to record with your video if necessary.
