(6) Telephone numbers may contain A to Z, 0 to 9 # * : ; < = , the PABX number may be included (e.g. 9 to dial out, extension number to dial in) and special control characters: J - wait for secondary dial tone K -2 second pause L - pulse dialling, M - tone dialling B - substitute access number (not in access number itself) (7) The modification of Position to localnet or internet may prohibit further configuration (i.e. cannot be changed back) until general reset. DO NOT CHANGE UNLESS IMPERATIVE. (8) All alarms passed to radio pagers or by SMS must be text on alarms. (9) If using auto-dial passwords, make sure that all TMN/ANC+/ANDs involved have the same password set up, and have dial-In set to on. (10) If auto-dialling passwords are set incorrectly, THEY WILL PROHIBIT COMMUNICATION. There is a special procedure to correct password on remote TMN - see Auto-dialling Reference Manual (90-1353). (11) There is a special procedure to clear a wrong, or forgotten configuration password - see Auto-dialling Reference Manual (90-1353). (12) If sending to radio pager,or sending to mobile by way of SMS bureau, set tele to bureau number prefixed by RR. (13) If sending SMS alarms to multiple mobile phones set ‘Additional Init String’ to AT+CPMS= “BM”. However, this will disable ability of mobile phones to communicate with TMN by text comms. If sending many SMS alarms to multiple mobile phones use 963/SMS. (14) If two or more AT commands are required in Additional Init String, concatenate them using ‘;’. e.g. AT+CPIN=4321;AT+CPMS=”BM”. 22 Configure GSM Modem Settings (TMNG only) STAGE 1: In all cases turn off TMNG, fit data enabled SIM card, turn on TMNG and enter configuration mode (see steps 8, 10, 14 & 18). Identify installed firmware version and modem type then proceed as follows: If the TMNG has v4.50 firmware (or newer) AND is fitted with a Multitech MTSMC-G3 modem: ▪▪ Type ‘direct’ at the main configuration prompts to enter direct modem mode. ▪▪ Type ‘dATE0V0S0=1’ to disable modem echo, enable numeric responses & auto answer. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+IFC=2,2’ to enable RTS/CTS flow control on modem serial port. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+ICF=3’ set modem serial port to 8 data bit, 1 stop bit. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+CBST=0,0,1’ to enable modem auto speed negotiation. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+CNMI=2,1,0,0,0’ to enable SMS received notification. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+CSMS=1’ to set SMS commands to Phase 2+ version. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+ILRR=0’ to disable data rate reports. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+CAOC=1’ to disable charging information reports. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+CMGF=1’ to set SMS message mode to text. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+CSMP=17,196,0, 0’ to set SMS validity period to 4 weeks. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+CSAS’ to save SMS settings to modem. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT&W’ to save settings to modem stored profile. ▪▪ Follow additional set up in STAGE 2 below. If the TMNG has v4.50 firmware (or newer) AND is fitted with a Multitech MTSMC-G or MTSMC-G2 modem: ▪▪ Type ‘init’ at the main configuration prompts which will launch the automatic modem initialisation process. ▪▪ Follow additional set up in STAGE 2 below. STAGE 2: Additional set up required for ALL units: ▪▪ Type ‘direct’ at the main configuration prompts. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+WAIP=1’ to turn off the GSM modem phonebook. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+CBST=7,0,1’ to force the GSM modem to connect using V.32 9600bps. Note: This is optional but may well help improve the connection reliability between modems. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT&W’ to save settings to modem stored profile. ▪▪ Exit direct mode and enter the Modem configuration menu (see step 21, page 10) and add an additional initialisation string ‘AT+CFUN=1’. This will force the modem to completely restart after each call. If the TMNG has v4.40 firmware an upgrade to v4.50 is recommended (contact Trend Technical Support to order a TMN upgrade PROM). Once upgraded follow the process in the left hand column for v4.50 and appropriate modem. If an upgrade to v4.50 is not possible proceed as follows: ▪▪ Type ‘direct’ at the main configuration prompts to enter direct modem mode. ▪▪ Type ‘dATE0V0S0=1’ to disable modem echo, enable numeric responses & auto answer. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+IFC=2,2’ to enable RTS/CTS flow control on modem serial port. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+CNMI=2,1,1,0,0’ to enable SMS received notification. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+CSMS=1’ to set SMS commands to Phase 2+ version. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+ILRR=0’ to disable data rate reports. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+CAOC=1’ to disable charging information reports. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+CMGF=1’ to set SMS message mode to text. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+CSMP=17,196,0,0’ to set SMS validity period to 4 weeks. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT+CSAS’ to save SMS settings to modem. ▪▪ Type ‘dAT&W’ to save settings to modem stored profile. ▪▪ Follow additional set up in STAGE 2 below. 23 Exit Configuration X "Exit from Utility" NBOX(B)/TMNG, H Trend Modem Node Controller Installation Instructions TG200729 Issue 8, 28-Jun-2016. 11 NBOX(B)/TMNG, H Installation Instructions 3.2 Installation - Configuration (continued) 24 Set up Device (communicating via TMN) Devices Device  IQ 822+/Toolbox WupDn IQ/822 WupDn TMN Lan TMN TMN  I/N IQ/822 RS232 Direct Modem  Only old IQ or 822+/Toolbox • For autodialled or critical alarms target, set Outstation address as appropriate with Lan number set to zero if TMN a local Lan, and set to destination Lan number if TMN on Internetwork.
