ADINSTRUMENTS MLT1406 Needle Microprobe Thermocouple Transducer Series Description The MLT1406 Needle Microprobe Thermocouple is a fast-response needle probe for instant temperature readings in tissue, semisolids and liquids. The probe consists of a 29 gauge, 1cm long needle. The needle tip is sealed to ensure only the stainless steel is in contact with the specimen. The MLT1406 is supplied with a 2-pin T-type thermocouple plug suitable for connection to the ML312 T-type Pod or ML290-V Thermometer for T-type thermocouples. Operation A copper-constantan sensor within the stainless steel shaft measures the temperature. The two dissimilar metals are joined at a junction which produces a small thermoelectric voltage when heated. This voltage is proportional to temperature. Application The MLT1406 Needle Microprobe Thermocouple is suitable for temperature measurements below 200 °C.
