So we reinvented the smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarm. Nest Protect quiets down when you wave – no more swinging towels or brooms – and messages your phone when its batteries run low. It speaks with a human voice, telling you where and what the danger is, and gives you a friendly Heads-Up before turning on a loud alarm.
How does it work? Nest Wave No more swinging brooms or towels. Silence alerts with a wave of your hand. Heads-Up Get a friendly alert so you can handle burning toast before a piercing alarm goes off. Receive mobile notifications If your Nest Protect is connected to Wi-Fi, you can receive low-battery alerts and alarm notifications on your smartphone or tablet. Works with the Nest Thermostat If Nest Protect’s CO alarm goes off, your Nest Thermostat automatically turns off your gas furnace – a possible source of poisonous CO leaks. Nest Protect’s activity sensors also improve the Auto-Away feature of your Nest Thermostat. Nightly Promise Nest Protect tests its sensors and batteries constantly and lets you know they’re working with a quick green glow at night.
