7.0 - 既知の問題点 本セ ク シ ョ ン では、 NetVault Backup の既知の問題点について説明 し ます。
Known Issues - File System Plugin X Overwriting a Symbolic Link during Restore when the Target File in place Causes Data in Target File to be Lost (FSG-604) - If a restore job restores a Windows symbolic link (file, created using mklink not Windows shortcut), where the symbolic link file already exists on the target file system and the data file the symbolic link targets also already exists. The data in the targeted data file will be lost. Users should take care when restoring symbolic links. Are advised to ensure that data files targeted by symbolic links are included in backups. Are also advised to delete existing symbolic links which will be restored, from the target file system which will be restored to, before running a restore job. Consider completing a backup of possibly at risk data files before running the restore job to ensure there is no risk of data loss X The File System Plugin does not support backup and restore of Cluster Database on Windows 2008 (FSG-562). X File System Plugin Fails to Restore ZFS Data with Extended Attributes (FSG-512) - A restore job using the File System Plugin will fail with default restore options on ZFS if the backup data contains ACLs on extended attributes. If errors occur on restore of metadata, data can be restored by selecting metadata restore option discard. X Using VSS Option while Backing up System State Results in Backup Failure (FSG-534) - If VSS is licensed on a Client, you can select the option Create and Backup Shadow Copy on the Backup Options tab. If this option is selected and there are no items included in the selection from volumes, the back job

will fail. This event can occur if exclusively elements of system state are selected, for which a VSS snapshot of volumes is not relevant. IIS not selectable by default on Windows 2008 (FSG-563) - The IIS Metabase node in the System State tree will not be visible by default on Windows Vista and/or Server 2008 based systems. To enable this node the ISS 6 compatibility pack can be installed, or a selection set that includes the IIS config and schema files (located under %windir%\system32\inetsrv\config by default) can be created. The File System Plugin Does Not Recurse Reparse Junction Points When the Backup Through Mount Points Option is Selected (FSG-595) - The File System Plugin does not consider symbolic links or (reparse) junction points as mount points and does not transit the link. The link is backed up and restored as a link. Items through a symbolic link are not included in a backup when you select option Backup through Mount Points. Backup Through Mount Points Option (Windows ONLY) (NVG-3082) (NVG-3594) - The backup jobs that use the option Backup Through Mount Points- must be re-defined, if they were originally defined with a version of File System Plugin prior to v7.1. After re-creating the job, modify the Backup Through Mount Points option manually and submit it. This option must be modified manually every time the job selection is redefined. Backing up Access Control Lists and Extended Attributes on Solaris ZFS and UFS with the File System Plugin (FSG-257) - To protect ACLs and extended attributes on all existing items, you must perform full backups after upgrading from v7.2.x or earlier plugin version on Solaris systems. Changes in Extended Attributes Not Qualified for Incremental Backups (FSG-500) - On Solaris ZFS and UFS file systems, the files/directories for which only the extended attributes are changed do not qualify for incremental backups. Removable Storage Manager Node not displayed on Windows 2003(FSG-617) - When browsing the System State node on Windows 2003, the removable storage manager database node is not displayed. Backup Might Fail if the File Size Reduces while Backup is in Progress (FSG-436) - If the size of a file that is included in a backup reduces after the File System Plugin has read the file status and created the tape header but before the plugin actually starts reading the data, then the backup might fail. This occurs because the File System Plugin has reserver larger amount for data in the backup stream, however, is unable to read enough bytes from the file to till the stream. VSS Backups Complete Successfully but an Error is Logged (FSG-599) - VSS backups complete successfully, however, the following error message appears in the NetVault: Backup logs: Error deleting volume snapshot(s): VSS_E_BAD_STATE. UNIX File System on Windows Platform (FSG-29) - When you submit a policy job created for a Unix file system on a Windows system, the job status will show Completed with Warnings, but no data will be backed up. Backup Job is Delayed (FSG-389) - In an environment with a large number of direct automounts on Solaris Clients, a backup job may remain at ÅgWaiting for Job OptionsÅh status while the Filesystem Plugin attempts to temporarily load the automounts to determine whether they are located on remote systems. This delay can be alleviated by selecting the ÅgBackup through Remote MountsÅh option (if required de-select or exclude remote mounts) and/ or adding the following stanza to nvfs.cfg: - [Performance:DoRecursiveAutoMountScan] - Value=FALSE Backup/Restore Windows File Short Names Options (FSG-310) - The following known issues apply to the use of these options: Z Incompatible with Windows 2000 - Short names are successfully backed up when the option is enabled, but due to limitations on Windows 2000, they cannot be successfully restored (However, they can be recovered to another supported version of Windows).

Z Restoring Short Names Only Works if an Existing File with the Same Short Name Does NOT Already Exist Z Not supported with Windows Encryption and Windows Compression - If Windows based Compression and/or Encryption functionality are enabled on a target system, attempts to backup/ restore short names will fail. Access Timestamp Reset (FSG-25) - When performing a backup with the File System Plugin, the access timestamp established for directories will be reset from the last time the directory was actually accessed, to the current date/time (because NetVault: Backup is effectively accessing the item for use). To contradict this, arguments can be appended to nvfs.cfg file in NetVault: Backup that allow you to preserve access timestamps on directories. If this is the case in your environment, enabling “Backup/ Restore of Windows File Short Names” will have no affect. Selections Not Recognized in Previously Created File System Plugin Jobs - This version of the File System Plugin may not recognize data selections made for jobs created with previous versions of the plugin (i.e., data items selected for inclusion in a File System Plugin backup job created with a previous version of the plugin may not be recognized with this version of the plugin). Therefore, attempts to run the job may fail. To resolve this issue, load the job, re-select the necessary data items and re-save it with the same Job Title. Incompatibility with Some Older Version File System Plugin Backups - All backups made by very old versions of the File System Plugin (i.e., from NetVault: Backup version 6.0.2 and earlier) will not be restored by File System Plugin v6.17 or later. The user will receive a log message and the job will fail. The actual version of the File System Plugin used to create the backup to be restored will be needed to recover this data. Changing a Directory to a Mount Point Causes Incremental Backup to Run as a Full Backup - If a directory included in the Selection Set for a File System Plugin backup job is ever changed to a Mount Point, any future Incremental backups performed using this Selection Set will be performed as Full backups (i.e., all selected data will be fully backed up). This will occur even if an intervening Full backup is performed of the Selection Set (i.e., if a Full backup is performed to try to reset the Incremental scenario, future Incrementals will still be performed as full backups). To accommodate for this issue, you must recreate/manually edit the Selection Set. Restoring over “Read Only “ Files - It is not always possible to restore a file over a file marked as “gread-only “. As a result, the plugin attempts to remove read-only status from a file before restoring over it. Again, success is not guaranteed because the SetFileAttributes call is not sensitive to the elevated privileges of the plugin. Restoring Non-Encrypted Files Over Encrypted Ones - It is not possible to restore a non-encrypted file over an encrypted file.
Known Issues - Others X Disk Space Checks for VTLs may Fail on NFS Mount (NVG-4670) - For NFS mounts, some versions of RHEL4 may not report the free disk space correctly (RHEL bug report at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/ show_bug.cgi?id=189238). On such installations, if the option to check disk space before creating a VTL is enabled, the VTL creation may fail sometimes and an error may be reported saying that there is not enough disk space to carry out the request. The workaround is to turn off the disk space check during VTL creation. Alternatively, the user may opt to upgrade to a version of RHEL which has the bug fixed. X NetVault: Backup Does Not Start Automatically on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 10 (NVG5008) - NetVault: Backup does not start automatically on SLES 10. You must start the services manually via Configurator or CLI. X Problems with Client/Server Connectivity on Windows 2008 and Vista when O/S Firewall is Enabled on Client (NVG-4633) - Occasionally, when using firewalls on Windows Vista and Windows

2008, you may encounter NetVault: Backup Client/Server connectivity problems, even if port exceptions have been correctly configured on the Client. Disabling the client-side operating system firewall corrects this problem. Currently, the Raw Device Plugin does not support GPT partitions (NVG-4424). nvremovemedia with NULL String Deletes First Entry in the Media List (NVG-1029) - When a null string is specified with the nvremovemedia command, the first entry is from the media database. NVDB Restore Job is Reported as Failed (NVG-4484) - When you restore the NetVault Databases, the job status is displayed as Restore Failed even if the job is completes successfully. Display Issues in the Japanese Version of NetVault: Backup (NVG-5004) - The NetVault: Backup Remote Configurator has some display issues in this release. The Remote Configurator includes more than one instance of the Plugin Options, Reporting and Notification tabs. Exchange Server Node Cannot Be Accessed After Upgrade (MEG-195) - After upgrading from NetVault: Backup v8.0 to 8.2, you will not be able to access the NetVault: Backup Client in the NetVault: Backup GUI where the Exchange Server APM is installed. You must re-install the Exchange Server APM after upgrading the NetVault: Backup Server to 8.2. Jobs Get Deleted While NVDB Backup Runs with Checker and Compact Options Enabled (NVG4450) - The other backup jobs in progress will get deleted when you run an NVDB backup with the checker and compact option enabled simultaneously. As a precautionary measure, do not use the compact option if other jobs are running or do not schedule NVDB backups with other jobs. Image-level Backups for VMware Plugin Listed Incorrectly in the Consolidate Incremental Backups Selection Tree (NVG-4443) - The backup sets for image-level backups of virtual machines are listed as possible candidates for consolidation in the tree even though they cannot be consolidated. Make sure these sets are not selected for consolidation. Cannot Verify Restarted Job (NVG-4567) - The Verify After Backup option does not work for a restarted backup. Job Started with Trigger even though Scheduling is Set to Immediate (NVG-2468) - The trigger name is stored when the trigger option is defined for a job or when it is inherited from a job that the current job was created from. If in the GUI, the schedule option is changed to immediate, this does not remove the trigger name. If at any time, the trigger option is again selected for this job, the trigger name appears in the text box. If the name is then cleared, the job is no longer sensitive to trigger activation. Job Manager Displays Incorrect Status for an NVDB Backup Job After Full NVDB Restore - After restoring the NVDB from the backup and restarting the services, the job status for the NVDB backup changes to Scheduler Aborted Whilst Job Running. This can be ignored. Machines Running Later Versions of NetVault: Backup Will Not Interoperate with Machines Running v7.4.5 or Previous Versions in Certain Instances - Due to changes in NetVault: Backup 8.0 and later versions, the machines running v8.2 will not interoperate with machines running v7.4.5 or a previous version in the following instances: Z Running a backup to an NDMP attached device. Z Running a backup using the NDMP Plugin. In either of the above cases, both the NetVault: Backup Server and the Client must have NetVault: Backup version 8.2 installed.
X Submitting Jobs with Network Compression Enabled is Not Supported for 8.0 Update 1 Clients The Network Compression option must not be enabled for Clients running NetVault: Backup v8.0 Update 1 even if the NetVault: Backup Server is running v8.2. The client must be upgraded to v8.2 if you want to use this feature.

X NetVault: Backup Databases Check Commands (NVG-3807) - Running a database check command such as nvmeddbcheck or nvscheddbcheck on an NVDB created prior to NetVault: Backup version 7.4 will fail. A work-around for this issue is available: 1. Create a backup of the NVDB using NetVault: Backup 8.2. 2. Stop the NetVault: Backup service. 3. Rename, move or delete the ScheduleDatabase and the MediaDatabase directories in ../db directory. 4. Restart the database. 5. Perform a full NVDB restore. For more information on database check commands please refer to the NetVault: Backup CLI User’s Guide. X Locale of NetVault: Backup Server and Client (NVG-2810) - A NetVault: Backup Server and its Client must be set to the same locale in order to display the GUI correctly. X Restore Limitation of 2GB on Itanium Platforms (NVG-3643) - Attempting to restore an index larger than 2GB may result in a failed restore on Itanium platforms. If a restore fails with the error message “Failed when sorting items to restore” you will need to manually increase the stack size by using one of the following methods: Z On standard Unix platforms, this can be resolved by editing the ulimit (-s option) in the CLI Terminal to increase the stack size. Open a CLI Terminal and utilize the following commands: - “ulimit –a” provides all the settings for the environment - “ulimit –s” provides the current stack size setting. - “ulimit –s unlimited” sets an unlimited stack size. - “ulimit –s n” (where n is the desired value) sets stack size to n. - “man ulimit” provides for more details on the ulimit command. After modification, enter a ‘ulimit –a’ command to ensure that the setting has been changed. Z On a HP-UX Itanium platform the bash command kmtune or kctune (depending on the operating system) can be used to access to the kernel stack size information. The stack vars are maxssiz for 32-bit applications and maxssiz_64bit for 64-bit applications. Open a CLI Terminal and utilize the following commands: - “kmtune -l -q maxssiz” provides the verbose setting information for a 32-bit application. - “kmtune -l -q maxssiz_64bit” provides the verbose setting information for a 64-bit application. - “kmtune –u –s maxssiz=n” (where n is the desired value) sets the new stack size to n for a 32-bit application. - “kmtune –u –s maxssiz_64bit =n” (where n is the desired value) sets the new stack size to n for a 64-bit application. - “kmtune –u –s maxssiz+n” (where n is the desired value) increases the stack size by n for a 32-bit application. - “kmtune –u –s maxssiz_64bit +n” (where n is the desired value) increases the stack size by n for a 64-bit application. Note that all instances of “kmtune” should be replaced by “kctune” depending on the operating system. Enter the man command in a CLI Terminal for more details. X CLI Issues (All CLI commands for version 8.2 of NetVault: Backup are documented in the NetVault: Backup - Command Line Interface User’s Guide). Z asf_load_media - This command will fail if the machine name contains any spaces.
End User Release Notes - NetVault Backup 8.2
Page 9 of 16
Z asf_release_drive - When this command is issued to various brands of library device (e.g., those containing various Exabyte or 9840 drives), a delay of up to eight (8) minutes may occur before the media is unloaded. A known work-around for this issue is covered in the steps that follow: 1. Open the Device Management window on NetVault: Backup Server. 2. In the Devices tab, locate the target drive and right-click on it. 3. In the pop-up menu that appears, select the Unload command. 4. The drive will remain in an “Idle” state and the media will not be unloaded as expected. If the logs for the selected device are viewed, an entry stating “Unload media in drive
failed - Device unavailable” will now be revealed. Repeat Steps 2 - 3 a second time, and the media will be unloaded. Z nvacslsmedia - The range function does not work properly. The work-around is to explicitly run this command for each media label/barcode the user wishes to allocate or deallocate. This can be accomplished in a script. Z nvexpiresaveset - Used with a NULL input for Saveset ID will cause random Saveset to be expired. Z nvcleandrive - When a space character is all that is input for a library’s name with this command, the first library in NetVault: Backup’s device management configuration will perform a clean operation on a respective drive. For example, if the syntax ‘nvcleandrive -libraryname “” -librarydrivenumber ’ is input and executed, NetVault: backup will automatically target the first library in its configuration order (i.e., the first library displayed in the Devices tab of the Device Management window in the GUI), and perform a clean operation on drive “”. Z nvjobmodify - The “-change” switch does not function properly when attempting to modify backup options for a job. - After execution of the command, the job is actually submitted to be run, even if the “-submit” switch is not included in the syntax. Z nvsetcreate - Data selections below the “Fixed Drives” level of the selection tree can not be named using this command’s “-include” switch (i.e., it is only possible to include an entire fixed drive in the the creation of a Backup/Restore Selection Set when using this command). Z nvsetcleaninglives - Allows erroneous live count to be set. Z nvsetdrivecleaning - The following are known issues with the use of this command: - Does not support the use of multiple switches. - Does not display drive cleaning properties correctly. - If invalid input is provided with this command, actual drive properties may be changed. Ensure that the syntax is properly input. Z nvsyncronizesilomeda - CLI does not update media status in Device Management window for Windows-based installations. Z CLI Commands will not Function Properly when the Locale is Set to a non-English Language When the language selection is set to anything other than English (i.e., in the Language Selection field located in the General tab of the Configurator), attempts to use NetVault: Backup command line interface commands may fail. Z Duplicate CLI Utilities After Upgrade from Version 7.1.1 - With an installation of NetVault: Backup Version 7.1.1, the CLI commands listed below were installed to the noted directories (where “...” refers to the complete path to the installation of NetVault: Backup): - nvreadlog: “.../netvault/bin” - nvtrigger: “.../netvault/util” - nvsettrace: “.../netvault/util”
End User Release Notes - NetVault Backup 8.2
Page 10 of 16
Upgrades to Version 8.2 will install new versions of these same utilities in the following directories: - nvsettrace: “.../netvault/bin” - nvtrigger: “.../netvault/bin” - nvreadlog: “.../netvault/util” After upgrade, navigate to the “.../netvault/bin” directory and delete the 7.1.1 version of the “nvreadlog” utility (i.e., there should be no “nvreadlog” utility in the “.../netvault/bin” directory). Once completed, navigate to the “.../netvault/util” directory and delete the 7.1.1 version of both the “nvtrigger” and “nvsettrace” utilities, as well. X Loss of the NVDB and Software Compression Functionality (VTL Devices, ONLY) - In the event that you are to lose your NVDB and recover a backup of it, NetVault: Backup will be unable to accurately report back the amount of space available on a virtual tape that contains backup job(s) that had the Software Compression functionality enabled (i.e., the tape will not be automatically scanned by the NetVault Device Manager -- The drive housing the media will be labelled as “Waiting for Media”, and eventually time out, failing the job). This only appears to be an issue when the job targeting this type of media also has the Software Compression functionality enabled. As a work-around, you can perform either of the following: Z Disable Software Compression and Re-launch the Job - In this instance, NetVault: Backup will perform the automatic scan of the media and use it accordingly. Z Manually Scan the Target Media - From the Device Management window, perform a full Scan of all of the media currently present in the Virtual Library. If you have already encountered this issue, the media may appear as if it has vanished from the Virtual Library. In this case, follow these steps: 1. Select the Media Request tab 2. Locate the request in the window and right-click on it. 3. Select the Hold command from the pop-up menu. 4. Return to the Devices tab and perform a full Scan of the VTL (i.e., right -click on the VTL node and select the Scan command). The media will be returned to the drive. 5. Return to the Media Request tab, and take the Media Request off of “Hold”. X NetVault: Backup Does Not Recognize a Standalone Device (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, Update 1, Only) - When a standalone tape device is locally attached to a machine running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, Update 1 (RHEL4U1), the device may not be recognizable to the NetVault: Backup Server. With this version of RHEL, the SG driver used to support this form of device is not automatically loaded, and must be manually loaded on the RHEL4U1 system, in order to support these devices. After manual load of the driver, it is necessary to stop and restart NetVault: Backup Services on the NetVault Server. This issue only occurs in instances in which the RHEL4U1 machine does not also have some form of library/ changer device locally attached (i.e., the standalone device is the only type of backup device locally attached to the RHEL4U1 machine). The Linux “SG” driver is an upper level SCSI subsystem device driver that is used primarily to handle devices such as a standalone tape drive. For complete details on obtaining and loading this driver, please see the relevant RHEL4U1 documentation. X Stopping NetVault: Backup Services does not Log an Event in the Windows Application Event Log (Windows 2000 Installations, ONLY) - In previous versions of NetVault: Backup installed on a Windows 2000 system, attempts to stop the NetVault: Backup Service would generate a log in the Windows Application Event Log. This version of NetVault: Backup does not log an event when the service is stopped. This only applies to NetVault: Backup installed on a Windows 2000 system (other Windows platforms will log the event). X SVTL Error Logs Generated When No SVTL Devices Exist - In various instances, error messages have been revealed in the NetVault: Backup Logs pertaining to Shared Virtual Tape Libraries (SVTL) when none have been set up for use (e.g., Mar 17 05:10:06 NetVault[403]: NetVault: Client: '' Class: 'System' Job: 'N/A' Warnlevel: 'Error' Msg: 'Failed to spawn 'SVTL Library Manager' (/usr/ netvault/bin/nvsvtlchgmgr)). If no SVTL devices have been created, and these messages appear in the NetVault Logs, they can be ignored. Inability to Have a Large Number of Jobs Running Simultaneously (Windows-based NetVault: Backup Servers, ONLY) - The default value established for a Windows’ system memory setting, “noninteractive desktop heap” has the potential to be exhausted if a large number of NetVault: Backup jobs are running simultaneously on the machine (e.g., tests running 30+ NetVault: Backup jobs have realized this error). As an end-result, a certain number of the jobs will stay active and run, while the remainder of the jobs will fail (i.e., return a result of “Job Died Unexpectedly” as its Run Status in the Job Management window). This is a known Windows operating system issue, and specific changes to the O/S can be made to resolve it. If running a large quantity of simultaneous jobs and this error occurs, please do not attempt to resolve it yourself, but instead contact BakBone Technical Support for the resolution. Certain Text is Partially Hidden in the Media Management Window - In certain instances when the Media Management window is initially accessed, it will appear to crop text from the window. The proposed work-around for this issue is to simply resize the window. Once this is done, repeat attempts to access the window will reveal it in its resized dimensions. Default Setting for Job Keep Alive Rate Option in the NetVault: Backup Configurator May Result in Job Failures - Inactive message channels between the NetVault Server’s job manager and the APM/ plugin installed on a target NetVault Client may be seen as inferior by network administration configuration devices (e.g., routers, etc.), and may be subsequently removed after a certain threshold. As a result, currently active jobs may fail. This can be resolved by adjusting the time set for the Job Keep Alive Rate option in the Job Manager tab of the NetVault: Backup Configurator from its default value of zero (e.g., to 5 minutes). For information on this option and the Configurator, please see the NetVault: Backup - Configurator Guide. No Case-sensitivity when Setting Up and Using Group Labels - If two separate Group Labels are created with the same name, but are differentiated through the use of capital letters (e.g., “Group-1” and “group-1” are created as separate Group Labels), NetVault: Backup may ignore this difference and assume that all of the media between the two groups actually only exist in a single group. For example, “Group-1” and “group-1” were created, and separate pieces of media are included in each group. If Group-1 is called out for use in a job, NetVault: Backup may include not only the media established in “Group-1” but also those named in “group-1” (i.e., NetVault: Backup will ignore the capitalization difference and assume that only one Group Label actually exists, thereby including all media named in both groups). Delete Non-Scheduled Jobs Option Deletes Triggered Jobs - This option is intended to delete any non-scheduled jobs, after a specified amount of time. However, since jobs using the “Triggered” schedule type have no physical scheduled time, they are also deleted after the input amount of time elapses. If you are using Triggered jobs in your NetVault: Backup environment, do not use the Delete Non-Scheduled Jobs functionality. Selecting Multiple Duplication Jobs and Using the “Run Now” Command will Result in Failed Jobs - If multiple jobs that have been set up as a duplications (i.e., via the “Duplication” option in the Advanced Options tab of the Backup window), are selected in the Job Management or Status windows of the GUI and the Run Now command is used via the pop-up menu, the jobs will fail. Running a Multi-job with Auto-Deletion Set to Default (i.e., “On”) in the NDMP Plugin - Parent and child jobs may still be visible when opening the Job Manager. This is a refresh issue and can be overcome by closing the NetVault: Backup GUI and reopening it. There is no need to stop/restart NetVault: Backup services. Unable to set a Drive Offline and Bring the Drive Back online (Drive goes down) - For physical drives, when media is in the device, you can not bring the drive online. The user must either stop and
End User Release Notes - NetVault Backup 8.2
Page 12 of 16
restart NetVault: Backup, or remove the media before bringing the drive online. This functionality works correctly for Virtual Drives and Libraries but not for Standalone drives. X Issue with Data Copy Plugin Backups of NetWare Thin Client Full/Incremental Backup Series When a Data Copy Plugin backup is set up for a NetWare Thin Client Plugin backup, and the “Automatically Get a Set’s Last Full Backup” option is enabled in the Backup Options tab, NetVault: Backup will target the actual last backup performed for the data copy, regardless if that last backup was a Full or Incremental backup (i.e., the “Automatically Get a Set’s Last Full Backup” option sees all NetWare Thin Client Plugin backups as Full backups). X Non-English Version/Localization Known Issues - All of the points that follow correspond to Known Issues that apply only to non-English versions of this release of NetVault: Backup: Z Use of Non-English Characters in the Set Filter Options Window - Various fields of the Set Filter Options window (i.e., accessed from the Job Management window) do not allow for the input of nonEnglish characters. Z End User License Agreement (EULA) Display Issue - If the default locale is changed (e.g., from UTF8 to EUC or vice-versa), the EULA may not be displayed properly. The proposed work-around for this issue is to use an EUC displayable terminal to view the EULA. Z Display of Simple Chinese Characters in Microsoft Windows XP Installations - This format of character is not properly displayed when performing backup and restore operations from a Windows XP installation of NetVault: Backup. The recommended work-around is to access the General tab in the NetVault: Backup Configurator and set the Language drop-down option to “English”.
