Printpix System High Image Quality and Choice of Two Print Sizes The Digital Color Printer NC-1000 utilizes Fujifilm’s exclusive Printpix system. This system uses special Printpix paper incorporating yellow, magenta and cyan layers that generates its own colors when heated by the thermal heads. In the Printpix system, each of the dots making up an image can express any of 16.7 million density-graded colors (256 steps each of yellow, magenta and cyan), giving clear, faithful reproduction of subtle shades and halftones with superior tonality and sharper contrasts. Operation of the Digital Color Printer NC-1000 is very simple. All control buttons are located on the upper front panel of the printer and feature a user-friendly interface for easy operation. This commercial-use digital printer only requires Printpix roll paper and there are no ink cartridges, ribbons or toner to replace.

A range of imaging and electronic technologies has gone into perfecting Fujifilm’s exclusive Printpix system. Special coated Printpix paper is used that has yellow, magenta and cyan layers. Printpix technology enables the Printpix paper to generate its own colors and images when subjected to the thermal energy from the printer heads and
UV light for fixing the images. With 16.77 million possible colors (256 YMC gradations), every hue and halftone can be reproduced. As a result, prints have rich tonal range and crisp and vivid colors. Since the Printpix system does not use any ribbon, ink, dye, toner, or chemicals, it is economical as well as ecological.
