DAWN OF THE DRUMS: ION’S NEW DRUM KIT OFFERS AN ILLUMINATED PERCUSSION EXPERIENCE -The ION Lighted Drum Kit features light-up LED drum and cymbal pads, a built-in drum coach, play-along patterns, and more than 200 sounds. Cumberland, R.I. (January 7, 2014) – Taking exciting technologies and making them easy to use is at the heart of ION’s product development, and the theme continues in their latest musical instrument, the ION Lighted Drum Kit. Featuring four drum pads, three cymbal pads, plus a compact kick trigger and hi-hat trigger, the ION Lighted Drum Kit makes it easier than ever to learn drum patterns and techniques by incorporating bright LEDs into the rim of each pad. The built-in drum coach offers beat-by-beat instructions as the pads light up, indicating which one to strike. “Learning an instrument can be intimidating. There’s the cost of buying the instrument, plus the cost of lessons, and, especially with children, there’s always the question of whether they’ll stick with it,” said Wendy Fortin, ION Product Manager. “The ION Lighted Drum Kit solves each of those problems; it’s affordable, has both the teacher and the lessons built in, and instantly makes you feel like a rock star, whether you’re experienced or not.” Through stereo 1/4-inch outputs, the ION Lighted Drum Kit can be easily connected to an amplifier or sound system for performances. There’s also a 1/8-inch headphone output, so users can play anytime, day or night. Drumsticks and headphones are included. An MP3 player or phone can be connected using the 1/8-inch input and used to play along to music. The ION Lighted Drum Kit can even connect to a computer via USB for integration with popular software recording programs and virtual instruments.
