Safe, efficient maintenance for transformers Maximum availability throughout the entire service life
»Install, assess, act« is the motto of the Siemens service concept for transformers. All services are combined under a single program, and optimal service solutions can quickly be found for every transformer in all phases of the lifecycle. Services are available individually or as a complete package as part of a maintenance contract. »Install« Installation of the transformer by Siemens ensures that all requirements from the manufacturing plant are complied with, providing a solid foundation for a long, reliable service life. Regional and customer-specific specifications, for example with regard to EHS, are also taken into con sideration. That minimizes the risk of a transformer failing in daily operations. »Assess« Humidity, oxygen, and thermal influences cause a transformer’s insulation to age. The dielectric properties deteriorate, the probability of a failure increases, and in extreme cases a transformer could catch fire. The indi vidual progression of this process is influenced, among other things, by the location, climate, and operational loads placed on the transformer.

That is why the status of transformers is regularly analyzed and assessed based on standardized displays as part of the Siemens TLM service concept. This takes place either by means of regular testing of the transformer or based on data obtained from online condition monitoring. The results of the assessment are transparent recommended actions for condition-based maintenance activities in order to maintain or restore a transformer’s specified state.
Advantage The new Siemens TLM service concept ensures maximum availability of transformers in all phases of their lifecycle. Standardized condition assessments and recommended actions make it possible to efficiently focus a budget on the right transformers within a fleet.
»Act« Implementing the recommended actions, such as oil regeneration, oil-drying or repairs, places the transformer back into the specified state. The work is planned in line with the transformer’s condition and urgency of its maintenance. Critical replacement parts which have a long service life, such as bushings, can thus be ordered in a timely manner.
