In version 11, Commvault provides installation files and service pack updates in a single installation package. When you download agents, tools, or other software, the service pack updates that are associated with the software are also downloaded. Commvault now provides installation files and service pack updates in a single installation package. You can download the Commvault software by using one of the following resources:  Download Manager (for Windows or UNIX computers)  CommCell Console A new version of the Commvault software is released every service pack (SP2, SP3, and so on). When a new service pack is available, Commvault releases a new version of the Download Manager and displays the new service pack version in the download software options of the CommCell Console. The software that you download through the Download Manager or CommCell Console is for a specific service pack version. We recommend that you always download the latest service pack version. If you need to download software from older service pack versions, consider the following requirements:  For downloads using the Download Manager, obtain the version of the Download Manager that corresponds with the service pack version that you need. For example, to obtain the Download Manager for SP3, you must download the V11 SP3 Media Kit and Service Pack. For instructions, see Downloading Installation Media.  For downloads using the CommCell Console, you can only download the software that matches or is later than the service pack version that is installed on the CommServe computer. If you do not plan to download the software, you can perform installation and upgrade operations directly from the Download Manager. For more information, see Download Manager. © Copyright Commvault Systems, Inc. 2016 All rights reserved. 1 MORE INFORMATION  Download the Commvault Software SUPPORT FOR HTTP AND HTTPS PROTOCOLS TO DOWNLOAD THE COMMVAULT SOFTWARE – EARLY RELEASE FEATURE You can use the HTTP protocol or the HTTPS protocol to download the Commvault software from the CommCell Console. You can move mailbox messages to secondary storage and use these messages as an archive copy. Cleanup jobs create stubs on the production storage. The stubs point to the messages that were moved as part of the archiving and cleanup operations. The archived messages are available for quick and easy retrieval by administrators and end users. With the Exchange Mailbox Agent, content is managed at the user level, rather than at the subclient level. Users are contained within a single subclient where you can assign discrete Exchange policies at the user, database, and user group levels. This eliminates the need to manage load balancing across multiple subclients. KEY FEATURES  The Exchange Mailbox Agent is easy to configure because all data is associated with one virtual client, which makes it simple to scale your data protection system horizontally. As your business needs grow, you can add or remove physical clients at any time without any disruption.  Metadata (From, To, Subject, receive time, size, and so on) is indexed, which allows you to retrieve data quickly. Content indexing indexes entire messages.  Multistreaming means that archiving, cleanup, and restore jobs can run in parallel and this increases throughput. In addition, each job type can run in multiple streams. APPLICABLE AGENTS  Exchange Mailbox Agent LICENSES  Mailbox Archive Solution 10 © Copyright Commvault Systems, Inc. 2016 All rights reserved.
