Sentinel-1A MEOS™ CollGS system delivered to Finnish Meteorological Institute Kongsberg Spacetec (KSPT) completed the On-Site Acceptance Testing and delivery of the integrated Sentinel-1A (S-1A) MEOS™ Collaborative Ground Segment (CollGS) reception and processing system on 11th November 2015, as a part of the contract between Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) and Kongsberg Spacetec.
The MEOS™ NRTSAR processor does processing in parallel with reception, which allows service delivery to start while data is received from the satellite. The MEOS™ NRTSAR processor can also be included in the MEOS™ CollGS system, giving the user the possibility to provide services from synthetic aperture radar data close to real time.
The system will do data reception and processing at the FMI Sodankylä ground station and process the S-1A C-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data to Level 0 and Level 1 (Level 2).

Kongsberg Spacetec has developed the MEOS™ CollGS system for processing Sentinel Data, including the MEOS™ Sentinel-1A Level 0 processor. The Sentinel-1A Instrument Processing Facility (IPF) from the European Space Agency (ESA) is seamlessly integrated in the MEOS™ CollGS system, where it is working together with the MEOS™ Sentinel-1A Level 0 processor. The ESA IPF is a Sentinel-1A processor related to the one in use at the Sentinel-1A core ground segments, and it is available from ESA for all national collaborative ground stations within the European Union or ESA member states.
More than one ESA IPF may also be integrated into the MEOS™ CollGS system to increase the processing speed. KSPT is now under contract with Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) to increase the processing speed of the KSAT delivered MEOS™ CollGS system by increasing the number of ESA IPFs (by parallel processing) and to establish Level 0 slice mode processing and Level 1 stitching.

The full MEOS™ CollGS system is a compact, yet powerful, ground station solution for Sentinel-1, upgradable to include reception of other Sentinel satellites in the near future. © FMI MEOS™ CollGS system developed and delivered by Kongsberg Spacetec, using data collected from the ESA Scientific Data Hub (scihub).

MEOS™ HRDFEP modems to exactEarth Kongsberg Spacetec AS has delivered four modems to exactEarth. The modems are of type MEOS™ CAPTURE HRDFEP and will be deployed at the exactEarth AIS satellite ground stations. They will receive data from the exactEarth AIS satellites and automatically distribute the data for processing into AIS information. Through such research and development activities at exactEarth, AIS signals can now be detected by a satellite in a low earth orbit and provide a global capability for monitoring all AISequipped vessels using a satellite constellation and an extensive network of ground stations.
MEOS™ 5 m antenna for Kongsberg Satellite Services installed in Alaska Kongsberg Spacetec has signed a contract with Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) for delivery of three MEOS™ antennas for tracking of polar orbiting satellites. The antennas are delivered with 5 m reflector and radomes. They will be installed in Alaska, South America and Antarctica. The first 5 m MEOS™ antenna was successfully installed in Alaska in November 2015. The MEOS™ antenna is designed and manufactured by Kongsberg for customers that request a feasible antenna with minimum maintenance needs. The antenna is intended for remote sensing satellite terminals that receive payload data in X-band and optionally in L-band.
Satellite AIS is a relatively new technology that has changed the landscape for monitoring the maritime domain. Improving upon existing technology already deployed aboard most large vessels across the globe, Satellite AIS is truly revolutionary in providing a complete and global picture of the world’s shipping.

MEOS™ 2,4 m antenna and MEOS™ Polar system to The Korea Water Resources Corporation Kongsberg Spacetec signed a contract with the Korean company InSpace Co. Ltd. to provide our MEOS™ Polar system to K-water The Korea Water Resources Corporation. The system was successfully installed in Daejon, South Korea, September 2015. The delivered system is based on a 2.4 m X- and L-band antenna for satellite tracking and data reception working as front end for MEOS™ Polar data acquisition and processing system for NPP and Terra and Aqua, both basic and advanced packages up to level 2 . Our visualisation tool Vimsat was also included. The MEOS™ Vimsat tools run on a separate workstation to prevent interference with the production line.
K-Water - The Korea Water Resources Corporation Since its establishment in 1967, K-water has been implementing national water resources management policies regarding multi purpose dams, water supply dams and regional water supply systems. It is also making a great contribution toward the development of the national economy and improving the quality of life for local people. •
In commemoration of the 40th anniversary of its foundation, K-water has launched the strategic mission: Water for the Happier World and it is pursuing innovation and change, in order to become the “Best Water Partner” in the world.
