Multifunction Audio System AES/EBU Distribution Card type 677-140A GENERAL DESCRIPTION The 677-140A AES/EBU Distribution Card fits into the 677 Card Frames. The 677-140A contains two AES/EBU distribution amplifiers, each with one input to four outputs. Line losses are actively compensated for the input stage and the signal is relocked. The basic functions of the two channels are identical. Channel one (input 2/15) normally feeds the outputs 1 to 4. It is furthermore capable of feeding the signal to - or receiving the signal from - the frame back panel thus providing means for expanding the distribution to more than 4 outputs. The signal can be fed to either of the busses accessible on the terminal pins no. 11b/c, 12b/c, 13b/c and 14 b/c where the bus 11b/c is predefined as AES 11 sync. interconnection. The appropriate bus is selectable by means of the on board DIL-switch. The mode of operation (i.e. feeding to or receiving from back panel bus) is selected by means of the on board rotary switch (I/O CONFIG). Channel two (input 3/16) will normally. Alternatively the output 5 to 8 can be fed in parallel with the outputs 1 to 4 (selectable on the I/O CONFIG switch).

Multifunction Audio System Analogue Distribution Amplifier type 677-150A GENERAL DESCRIPTION The 677-150A Analogue Distribution Amplifier fits into the 677 Card Frames. The 677-150A is a quad, one input to one output amplifier. The input of amplifier one provides a buffered output, which may be used for feeding one or more inputs of the remaining three amplifiers. In this way the card can be configured as a distribution amplifier with one to four outputs. The amplifiers have individually isolated inputs and outputs. Isolation of the inputs is obtained by means of transformers. The input transformers are operated in current mode providing superior performance regarding distortion and frequency linearity (impulse response). Isolation of the outputs is obtained by supplying each output stage from separate isolated DC/DC converters. In this way the signal degradation normally introduced by bulky output transformers is avoided. To facilitate easy interconnection to professional and consumer equipment the amplifiers provide an adjustable gain range of 0 dB +/- 18dB in steps of 6 dB with additional +/-4 dB fine adjustment.

Multifunction Audio System Dual Stereo A/D Converter Type 677-210B GENERAL DESCRIPTION The 677-210B dual A/D Converter fits into the 677 Card Frames. There are two identical 24-bit A/D converter circuits on the 677-210B card. The card also exists in a version (677210A) containing only one Stereo Converter. Each converter has individually isolated inputs. Isolation is obtained by means of transformers. The input transformers are operated in current mode providing superior performance regarding distortion and frequency linearity (impulse response). The digital outputs conform to the AES3 specifications. The converter card must be synchronized from an external sync signal (AES11). The sync signal may be connected directly to the 25 pole sub-D connector or via the back panel bus. The C end U bits in the AES outputs are transparent to the C and U bits embedded in the sync signal.

Multifunction Audio System Dual Stereo D/A Converter Type 677-220B GENERAL DESCRIPTION The 677-220B dual Stereo D/A Converter card fit into the 677 Card Frames. The dual Stereo D/A Converter type 677-220B converts two AES/EBU input signals to two analog stereo signals. The AES/EBU inputs can be terminated to 110 ohm by means of a jumper. The input stages in front of the AES/EBU receiver circuits allows for longer line length, typically 200 meters on a standard microphone cable. The digital input signal is routed through an AES/EBU receiver circuit to two 24-bit Stereo A/D converter circuits, and further on through analog filters to the electronically balanced line driver output circuit. Pre emphasis is automatically activated according to requirement by the C-bit of the AES/EBU signal (only for 44,1 and 48 kHz). The card also exists in a version (type 677-220A) containing only one Stereo Converter.

The Dual Mono D/A Converter type 677-220M converts two AES/EBU (stereo) input signals to two analogue mono signals. The AES/EBU inputs can be terminated to 110 ohm by means of a jumper. The input stages in front of the AES/EBU receiver circuits allows for longer line length, typically 200 meters on a standard microphone cable. The digital input signal is routed through an AES/EBU receiver circuit to two 24-bit A/D converter circuits, and further on through analogue filters to the electronically balanced line driver output circuit. Pre emphasis is automatically activated according to requirement by the C-bit of the AES/EBU signal (only for 44,1 and 48 kHz). On each D/A converter it is possible to set a jumper for selecting the mute-function. There are three settings: 1. Open jumper
The D/A converter converts the incoming signal, regardless of signal validity.
2. Jumper set to ERF
The D/A converter mutes if the incoming digital audio signal is invalid.
3. Jumper set to ERF +V
The D/A converter mutes if the incoming digital audio signal is invalid or if the Validity Bit is set to invalid.

Multifunction Audio System Dual Sample Rate Converter Type 677-230B GENERAL DESCRIPTION The 677-230B dual Sample Rate Converter fits into the 677 Universal Card Frames. There are two identical 20/24-bit Sample Rate converter circuits on the 677-230B card. The 677-230A card is the version with only one converter. Input sample frequencies from 9 kHz to 63 kHz are accepted and the ratio between input and output sample rate can vary from 1:2 to 2:1. The input word width is 4 to 20 bit and shorter input words are automatically zero-filled in the LSB=s. The output word with is 24 bit. The digital inputs and outputs conform to the AES3 specifications. Normally the inputs are terminated with 100 ohms. To allow for bridging multiple inputs, the input can be switched to unterminated mode. The converter card must be synchronized from an external sync signal (AES11). The output sample rate of both channels is determined by the sync. signal. The sync signal may be connected directly to the 25 pole sub-D connector or via the back plane bus. The C bit in the AES outputs may either be transparent to the C bit embedded in the sync signal or it may be predefined on the board. The mode of operation is selectable by an on-board switch. (See Technical Specifications for details) The group delay is selectable 0,7ms / 3ms. Default selection is 0,7ms. Choosing the longer 3ms delay may be advantageous if the input sample rate is variable such as by varispeed. The ability to track varying input sample clock can be affected by the ATrack: slow/fast@ switch. Factory setting is Aslow@ for obtaining maximum jitter attenuation. If problems occur at varying input sample rate, the Afast@ tracking may be selected. AES-3 Input 1
