YAMAHA STAR MOTORCYCLES For riders who like to stand out form the crowd with a motorcycle of exceptional quality, we offer you the Star range of cruisers. We pride ourselves on building cruisers that don’t just look, sound and feel the business, they also go, stop and handle like a motorcycle should. We believe that just because you appreciate the long and low lines of a cruiser doesn’t mean you have to put up with cruise ship handling. Coincidence it isn’t - our racing heritage drives Yamaha to creatively blend advanced technology and materials with development aims that match the true heartbeat of cruising. We found that five elements form the essence of the Star brand - high build quality, performance, reliability, heritage and timeless design. Five key ingredients that have lead us to offer a five year factory warranty on all Star cruisers. XV1900A Roadliner The style guru. Yamaha’s XV1900 borrows heavily from the 1930s to create the freshest look in classic cruiser styling. An exquisite merging of old and new, the Roadliner mates a traditional large capacity pushrod design with crisp fuel injection and EXUP exhaust valve performance in a 1854cc masterpiece. The rollon acceleration at your disposal for highway overtaking is impressive and handling may surprise many expecting a sedate experience. Attention to detail is unsurpassed. Fat chromed bars are internally wired for a clean look that continues through to the integrated brake and clutch lever bracket/master cylinders. Conical indicators underline Yamaha’s attention to the evocative look. Roadliner makes a fashion statement but backs it up with the sort of substance more commonly found on an airport runway. XV1900A in Raven XV1900A Key Features 1 Yamaha’s XV1900A is a fascinating mix of neo and retro, of old world classic and postmodern masterpiece. EXUP (Exhaust Ultimate Power valve) system inside the two-into-one exhaust system boosts torque in the 2500-3000-RPM range. Beautifully crafted twelve-spoke wheels evoke the Streamliner look, and then juxtapose it with modern tubeless radial tyres. Twin-bore downdraft fuel injection ensures optimum engine efficiency and throttle response in the widest possible range of conditions. 2 Long and low aluminium frame provides great looks and light handling unlike any other big-bore cruiser, thanks to a low centre of gravity feel and a near 50/50 weight distribution on the front and rear wheels. 3 4 Classic-clock style instrumentation complements Roadliner’s neo-retro look, and contains analogue speedometer, tachometer and fuel gauge, along with twin digital tripmeters, odometer and self-diagnostics. The mighty low-revving, 1854cc (113-cubic inch) air-cooled, eight-valve V-twin engine has massive roll-on torque. A front brake derived straight from the R1 and an aluminium frame ensure this is not a case of arts for art’s sake. 5 Typifying the Roadliner 1900 ethos, the spurred swingarm provides stable road holding and a one-of-a-kind look. This stunning megacruiser stops just like it goes and steers - with assurance. Design touches include flared fenders, teardrop (seamless) fuel tank, sweptback handlebar mounts and conical indicators. take up when you activate that monstrous lowrpm torque. Aluminium frame is light, rigid, and requires few welds. XVS950A V-Star One size fits all. The good thing about cruisers is that they can be enjoyed by riders of all sizes. And with a super low seat height, the XVS950A is designed to appeal to a wide range of people looking for a sweet handling yet punchy middleweight. Beyond the traditional air-cooled exterior you’ll find all the latest technology including fuel injection, four-valve cylinder heads, ceramic-composite-lined cylinders and forged aluminium pistons that mean business. The chassis design has been mass centralised with a carefully designed rigidity in the longitudinal, lateral, and torsional directions to offer an awesome riding experience. Add a large diameter, low profile front tyre and optimal front end weighting and you’ll be searching out sweeping bends to enjoy with confidence. Take one ride on the versatile V-Star 950 and you’ll feel the manoeuvrability and urge of a benchmark in middleweight cruising XVS950A V-Star in Raven XVS950A Key Features 1 Muscular, fuel-injected 942cc air-cooled V-twin engine features plenty of distinctive, big-cruiser character and pulsing torque feel. 2 Steel main frame has been carefully designed to offer an ideal rigidity balance in the longitudinal, lateral, and torsional directions and uses the engine as a stressed member. This all translates to an exceptionally light feeling that riders are sure to appreciate. The big 18-inch front wheel helps deliver this cruiser motorcycle’s sporty handling characteristics and Sport Classic cruiser looks. The low-profile tyre is mounted on an 8-spoke lightweight aluminium wheel. The rear tyre adds a beefy look and helps transfer all that torque and power to the pavement. 3 The combustion chamber shape was precisely engineered to direct the fuel air charge into the centre of the piston for faster combustion and maximum power. Ceramiccomposite-plated cylinders provide excellent heat dissipation and reduced oil consumption. High-quality forged aluminium pistons have a lightweight, high-strength compact design that contributes to reduce vibration. The engine’s V-twin smooth character is so pleasing that a counterbalancer is unnecessary. This also contributes to simplicity and less operating noise. 942cc (57.5 cu. in) engine is an air-cooled SOHC 60° V twin. With four valves per head, a pent-roof shaped combustion chamber, and 9.0:1 compression ratio, this engine has been carefully designed to produce excellent power characteristics – and best-in-class acceleration. Sophisticated fuel injection is used on the V Star 950. The injectors are 4-hole, two-directional types with spray aimed at the valve surfaces. That produces superior fuel atomisation for faster and more complete combustion which contributes to excellent drivability. The fuel injection system also adopts an ISC (Idling Speed Control) valve for outstanding idling stability. 2-into-1 exhaust system includes 3-way catalyst technology to reduce air pollution. The V Star 950 lubrication is provided by a simple, reliable wet sump system. To keep friction loss to a minimum and help the engine achieve the ideal performance characteristics, special compact roller-type rocker arms with needle bearings are used. The steel double-cradle frame is long and low, contributing to the bike’s spacious overall length and wheelbase. That means a great ride to go along with the great looks. With a seat height a mere 673mm off the pavement, one of the lowest around, and a fuel tank that’s made as narrow as possible where it meets the seat, it is easy for most riders to put both feet firmly on the ground. Large diameter 320mm front and 298mm rear discs provide strong braking capacity with excellent feel. Front forks feature big 41mm tubes, and rear suspension is a bottom-link-type monocross shock. Settings are calibrated to deliver a plush ride that is increasingly firm as the suspension is compressed for good handling and comfort over bigger bumps in the road. 1 The V-Star 950 has a wonderfully light feel. Surprisingly, even though it has a full-size chassis, the bike weighs just 278kg wet, with a full tank of gas and all fluids. The large-diameter meter is mounted on the fuel tank for a traditional look. Meter functions include speedometer, fuel level warning light, oil level warning light, and odometer with two trip meter functions, fuel trip meter, and clock display. The LCD display illumination can be adjusted using a right side handlebar switch. 2 3 Professional riders with advanced skill depicted on a closed course.
