The digital signal processor works in real time. This means a processing rate of approximately 150 million instructions per second. Decoding takes place in the reader. Extensive external processor performances are not necessary.

INTERFACES
The ODT-MAC340 reads Data Matrix code omnidirectionally. It is no longer necessary to read codes on the lids of cylindrical (bottles, vials, cans, etc.) objects. The code can be placed anywhere on the cylindrical object and will always be read as long as the image area is sighted. The Finder Pattern, a special feature in the Data Matrix code, allows the ODT-MAC340 reader to determine the position and arrangement of the code.

Ambient light ? - no problem ! The high-energy flash of the ODT-MAC340 is precisely synchronized with the camera functions and the trigger signal. Only 27 microseconds are necessary to “freeze” the picture. This short flash period also reduces light pollution and prevents negative effects to the human eye. The solid-state light source is not subject to deterioration. Heat generation and power consumption are reduced to a minimum.
Flexible interface – speedy data transfer Fast production requires even faster data transmission. The ODT-MAC340 reader not only enables the physical interface RS-232 and allows the adaptation of different protocols, it also achieves transfer rates of 115 k baud under real conditions.
Adjustment and so on...
The mechanical adjustment of the ODT-MAC340 is very simple. The optical module, consisting of light source, optics and CCD chip can be turned 90° simply by loosening two screws. By rotating the module to the side window, the mounting height can be reduced and the cables installed parallel to the scanning surface.
OMNICONTROL – software for the user OMNICONTROL for Windows (Windows 95 or higher) serves to alter the configuration. The program is designed to be user friendly and also offers various functions for error diagnosis. Once a set of parameters is chosen, this specific configuration may be stored in the PC or downloaded to the ODT-MAC340. Information remains in the nonvolatile memory until a different configuration is transmitted.
Two operating modes as a choice The ODT-MAC340 can transmit the acquired data via the serial interface. As an alternative, the Matchcode Mode can be chosen. This mode offers the possibility of storing reference data that is compared with the actual read data. Depending on the result, respective Good/Fail outputs are activated.

A VGA-monitor output is provided to connect a standard PC-monitor. The image of the ODT-MAC340 can be displayed continuously and in real time. In addition, to the optical adjustment of th OPT-MAC340, the quality of the picture taken by the device can be precisely evaluated.

ODT-MAH100 inaugurates a new guidance concept for the operator. The handheld device is light and comfortable in the hand, similar to the previous, very popular pen scanners. It is especially easy to read 2-D and 1-D codes, especially on documents and labels. A very accurate laser targeting system enables the exact positioning over the code. The high density Data Matrix Codes are read accurately, quickly and of course omnidirectionally.

CMOS Technology – a high resolution reader The high resolution CMOS technology allows not only the identification of very small Data Matrix codes, it also guarantees the evaluation of bigger barcodes. Different optical configurations are not necessary.

The ODT-MAH100 comes equiped with a keyboard wedge. An additional power supply is not necessary. An RS-232 connection with an external power supply is available as an option. The ODT-MAH200 sets a new benchmark for size and weight. It is smaller and lighter than comparable systems yet can withstand multiple drops onto a concrete floor. It is the only product available in handheld, gun handle, and presentation-stand form factors with cabled, batch and cordless versions. The cordless version utilizes the latest BluetoothTM class 1 interface with a 300 foot operating range. Rugged and lightweight, the cordless version will operate for more than a complete shift at the highest use rate. The ODT-MAH200 cabled version is available with USB (standard) or RS232 interfaces. All cables use rugged, automatic locking adapters that allow users to change cables, but prevent inadvertant disconnections.
The ODT-MAH200 cordless version features a class 1 Bluetooth interface with a 300 foot operating range. The ODT-MAH200 communicates seamlessly with desktop PCs, laptop PCs, PDAs, printers, cell phones, point of sale devices, LAN and WLAN routers. ODT-MAH 200 offers 6000 reads and transmits over 8 hours of standby time.
ODT-MAH200 Batch (Store-Forward) The ODT-MAH200 Batch version features a 1300 milliamp lithium-ion battery with a 6200 scan lifespan plus 8 hours of standby time. The unit features 8 MB of nonvolatile memory and automatically recharges when connected via the USB interface.
