Odyssey Fun Center Coed Volleyball Rules 100 Hamann Drive Sheboygan Falls, WI 53085 920/467-3578 1. Play will begin May 3rd.. 2. The net shall be 7 feet, 11 inches for all leagues. 3. The number of players on the court for any team shall not be more than 6. There must not be more men than women playing at any one time. A minimum of three players is needed to field a legal lineup. If both teams consent, a game or match can be played with an unbalanced lineup. In the event a team has 3 guys and 2 girls, when the rotation has 2 guys in the front row, the guy on the left side must be declared the setter and can not hit or block. 4. Each team will appoint a team captain. 5. Teams shall have no more than 12 members on their roster. Roster additions or changes can be made up to the 2nd week of the season. Any other roster changes or additions after the 2nd week of the season will have to be approved by majority vote of the team captains in the league. 6. All teams shall have a roster list turned in before the first night of league. 7. Scoring will be done on a 25-point system. 8. A game is played to 25 points, but there must be a 2-point advantage for the game to end. A match will last no longer than 1 hour. The last game will end on the hour; whichever team is ahead will win the game point. Cap of 30. 9. The serve shall be done in back of the boundary line, and can be either overhand or underhand with an open or closed hand. 10. The ball cannot be contacted more than 3 times by a team with one of the contacts being made by a female member. 11. A block is not considered one of the 3 hits by a team. A block is determined if a player is within arms length of the net and does not attack a ball in the plane above the net. 12. Players from the back row cannot advance to the front row for the purpose of blocking or spiking. 13. Person serving states the score before every serve. 14. Each team will be allowed one time out per game. Time out will be no longer than one minute in length. If a game is tied at 24-24, another time out will be given to each team if so desired. Games cannot end on a time out. 15. Substitutions can only be a man for a man or a woman for a woman. Two men may not be in the serving order or any other positions on the court together. All rotations will occur at the service position, except in case of deliveries. 16. A team may have to forfeit the 1st games but may be eligible to play the remaining games. If a team forfeits 2 of 3 games, the entire match will be forfeited. All matches will start after a 5-minute warm-up. 17. In all matters not covered by these rules, and in all cases where the rules may not be carried out, agreement of the two team captains must be reported to management.
18. There will be no postponements of the scheduled matches unless done so by Odyssey Fun Center management. Odyssey will reschedule matches the Sunday after the week late afternoon. Games will only be rescheduled if there is a heavy downpour or lightning is occurring. If the games are called while in progress, both team captains must sign the score sheet verifying the score. 19. A team withdrawing from the league will forfeit all entry fees. If a team disband before the season is over, all remaining games will be credited to its scheduled opponents unless the league is playing with a bye or a team can be replaced within two weeks by management. The team replacing the disbanded team will continue with the schedule and points won or lost. Teams will not receive any refunds if there is a bye on the schedule. We will try our best to fill any openings. 20. Any player found guilty of unsportsmanlike conduct will be suspended. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Warnings will be issued on the following basis: 1st offense – warning; 2nd offense – ejection from the game and must leave the facility. Following a second ejection from a match the team will suffer the loss of a game. The violating player will be suspended from the league for the next two scheduled matches. 21. ABSOLUTELY NO CARRY-IN’S of any type of food or beverage will be allowed. All beverages must remain on the property. 22. Every time your team has a drink, the team will receive one point for each dollar spent. The team with the most points at the end of the season will receive a ¼ barrel of their favorite beer and a bowling party for 4 hours at Odyssey Fun Center. You can only get points on the night your team plays and your friends may come out and help you earn points. 23. August 30th will be the bust up party. We will set out sheets to bring a dish to pass to make the evening more festive. Odyssey will supply pizza that evening. 24. Every team is responsible for their own warm up balls. 25.
