GCI Wireless LAN Controller Implementation Service provides a set of services to configure Alcatel Lucent Enterprise (ALE) Instant Access point with Virtual controller for operation on your network. ALE OmniAccess Instant Access Points make ALE OmniAccess Mobility Controller capabilities on 802.11n access points (APs) virtual creating a feature-rich, enterprise-grade wireless LAN (WLAN) that delivers the affordability and simplicity of an entry-level Wi-Fi network. No WLAN switch/controller is required and software licenses are included. This service includes basic access point (AP) configuration rollout, secure service set identifiers (SSIDs), and guest portal configuration. Additionally, as part of a more advanced deployment, this service can include functionality such as high-availability mesh configurations, AP authentication back-up, and active-active portal configurations. Description A GCI mobility engineer will perform a services planning session with the customer to define configuration requirements, collect data and information, identify devices connecting to the WLAN, document the plan arrived at during this session, and prepare an implementation plan for deployment of the services. Using the implementation plan developed during the planning and design stage, the GCI mobility engineer will perform the following steps: Complete the initial configuration of the WLAN controller Upgrade the virtual controller OS to the latest release Configure appropriate VLANS and interfaces Configure WLAN security and SSID’s Configure Guest SSID’s and portal Configure basic Policy Enforcement Firewall policies Configure access point groups Provision installed access points Validate client connections to all SSID’s Baseline testing of the newly deployed WLAN will include the following: Verify device connectivity to the appropriate SSID Verify proper VLAN placement Test guest access and workflow Validate SSID and AP connectivity The GCI mobility engineer will provide product knowledge information to the customer during and at the completion of the implementation. Once complete, an as-built report will be created documenting the configuration details, equipment inventory and details, testing completed, and any engineer comments or recommendations.
Service limitations GCI will not provide operational testing of applications, or additional tests requested or required by the Customer. GCI will not provide backup, recovery, and support of the operating system, other software, and data. GCI will not modify any configurations of any equipment that is not part of the GCI WLAN solution. GCI is not responsible for creation of a new network architecture or network design. Should testing failures occur and GCI deems that the reason(s) for the failures are outside the control of GCI including, but not limited to, failures due to faulty solution and/or system design, additional charges may be incurred to remedy the failure(s) and/or stop the installation and restore the site to its pre-installation state.
