OMNISTAR® GX2 GX2-RFA1000B RF Amplifier The OmniStar GX2-RFA1000B provides amplification of forward path RF signals in headend or hub locations. It can feed a 1550 nm broadcast transmitter, which typically needs higher RF levels, or you can split the amplified signals and feed many 1310 nm distribution transmitters. The GX2-RFA1000B uses a Motorola RF amplifier integrated circuit to provide high linearity, low-noise, and low distortions. You can adjust the integrated attenuator to obtain specific RF output levels, and you can easily compensate high-frequency roll-off due to headend cabling with the integrated slope control. The compact, energy-efficient design enables 16 plug-n-play modules to operate in the four rack-unit OmniStar GX2 housing, minimizing valuable headend space. Enhanced with PowerPC® technology by Motorola, the GX2 application modules introduce a new found intelligence to traditional headend equipment. The hot-swappable modules with unique embedded features like Quick-Swap module configuration maximize in-service time by eliminating the need for manual configuration. The GX2-RFA1000B has integrated slope control to equalize RF levels in the network. BENEFITS INCLUDE: • Single output port with up to 19 dB of gain • Integrated attenuator to adjust RF level for optimal link performance • Slope control from +1 dB to +4 dB • High linearity, low-noise and low distortions • Front panel test point for RF output • High density - up to 16 modules in 4RU chassis • Plug-n-Play application modules with blind-mate RF connectors in the rear SPECIFICATIONS RF RF Bandwidth RF Output Ports Gain 47 MHz to 1000 MHz 1 16 dB minimum, at 870 MHz 19 dB maximum, at 870 MHz 0 dB to 5 dB 1 dB to 4 dB 9 dB typical 1.0 dB maximum, 47-870 MHz 1.5 dB mMaximum, 47-1000 MHz 16.0 dB minimum, 47-870 MHz -20 dB +/-0.5 dB relative to RF output port Attenuator range Slope control range Noise Figure RF Flatness Return Loss RF Test Point Maximum distortions at 35 dBmV/channel (79 NTSC channels + 320 MHz digital) CIN CTB CSO XMOD GENERAL Dimensions Weight Mounting RF Connector Types Input/Output Test points Operating Temperature Range Storage Temperature Range Power Consumption Visual Interface Data/Control Interface 1" W x 5.9" H x 15" D (2.5 cm x 15 cm x 38 cm) 2.0 lbs.
