Applications for the Conext XW inverter/charger The Conext XW single- and three-phase inverter/charger Conext XW inverter/charger is a pure sine wave, single- and three-phase system with self consumption capabilities and dual AC power inputs. North American units feature splitphase input and output without the need for an external transformer. Available solar charge controllers, monitoring, and automated generator control modules enable further adaptability. From a single Conext XW to multiple clusters of units of up to 36 kW each, this scalable system allows for the integration of solar capacity as required.

Conext XW inverter/chargers
An adaptable and scalable power solution for residential installations
The Conext XW system provides worry-free backup power during power outages.
Residential backup power Homeowners embrace the Conext XW system because it allows for fully-automated, hasslefree, backup power. Unlike a plug-in backup power pack or portable generator, the Conext XW inverter/charger is integrated into the electrical system and seamlessly converts power from battery reserves to support critical loads such as pumps, security systems, refrigerators, and electronics in the event of a power outage or brown-out. When utility power is readily available, the Conext XW inverter/charger will keep the battery bank fully charged and ready for the next grid failure. The Conext XW system easily integrates with a generator for extended backup power.

Residential grid-interactive solar with backup In addition to providing residential backup power, the Conext XW system’s ability to easily integrate PV power will help reduce household dependency on utility power by offsetting consumption. The Conext XW supports DC coupled and AC coupled grid-tie systems. And, by utilising Conext XW’s grid-interactive features, residential charges are reduced by prioritising the use of energy stored in batteries or directly from solar panels. The Conext XW also easily integrates with a generator for extended backup power.

Residential off-grid solar For off-grid home owners, Conext XW inverter/chargers provide AC power from batteries. The Conext XW system’s Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) solar charge controllers enable PV modules to directly charge batteries. The pure sine wave output and high surge capabilities of Conext XW inverter/chargers start and run pumps with ease, enabling key water and sewage systems, and assisting smaller generators in starting difficult loads. Additionally, the Conext XW can integrate a fuel-based generator enabling cost-effective hybrid off-grid power solutions. The control and monitoring capabilities of the Conext XW system provides off-grid home owners with management information to ensure dependability is maintained and systems operate as they should.

An adaptable and scalable power solution for commercial installations
The Conext XW is configurable for three-phase commercial applications.
Commercial backup power The Conext XW inverter/charger integrates with commercial building breaker panels to seamlessly and instantly convert power from battery reserves to maintain operation of critical loads such as security, data and communication systems, as well as pumps and machinery when the power grid fails or browns out. When utility power is readily available, the Conext XW will keep the battery bank fully charged, ready for the next time. Conext XW systems can be scaled up to 36 kW and configured for single-phase, split-phase or three-phase power. The Conext XW easily integrates with a generator for extended backup time.

Commercial grid-interactive solar with battery backup In addition to providing backup power for commercial operations, the Conext XW inverter/ charger easily integrates photovoltaic (PV) power, reducing business dependency on utility power by offsetting consumption and increasing the return on investment. The Conext XW system can also manage load shifting to avoid expensive time-of-day electricity charges. Integrating PV power in regions with weak or intermittent grid power will allow businesses to operate for extended periods of time without grid power. Conext XW systems can be scaled up to 36 kW and configured for single-phase, split-phase or three-phase power. The Conext XW easily integrates with a generator to further increase business operating time when the grid is down. The control and monitoring capabilities of the Conext XW system provides businesses with management information to ensure dependability is maintained and systems operate as they should.

Commercial off-grid solar Wherever independent off-grid power is required for the operation of remote farms, monitoring stations, telecom towers, or work camps, the Conext XW inverter/charger is a cost effective replacement for a diesel generator. If PV production is insufficient or unavailable to meet demand, a generator can be integrated by the Conext XW system and managed by the automatic generator start (AGS) module to assist with loads and recharge batteries as required. For existing off-grid diesel generator power systems, integrating a Conext XW will facilitate the decrease in both generator run time and corresponding fuel costs. The control and monitoring capabilities of the Conext XW system provides power management information for operators and peace of mind that remote property is secure and power dependent systems are operating as they should.

An adaptable and scalable power solution for community installations
Conext XW community based off-grid systems scale up in 36 kW clusters and are expandable at any time.
Rural / community electrification Conext XW is adaptable and scalable, powering off-grid communities around the world and helping them qualify for renewable energy funding programs to establish reliable, high-quality localised community power plants. By coupling to renewable PV energy generation through the DC system. The Conext XW delivers a more affordable AC power solution than traditional off-grid systems that rely on power supplied from diesel generators alone. Conext XW community based off-grid systems are expandable at any time to 36 kW clusters. The Conext XW system supplies a standard AC voltage grid, enabling communities to not only benefit from the low cost and wide variety of common AC appliances and tools, but also from the continuously declining cost of renewable PV power generation. The Conext XW will also integrate diesel generators into a hybrid off-grid system increasing the flexibility and reliability of the entire system while still reducing community dependence on the ever increasing cost of fuel generators. Remote system monitoring and management is available for the supervision of the Conext XW inverter/charger and supporting system components.

Conext XW inverter/chargers
Conext XW accessories XW power distribution panel (PDP) (865-1015)
The XW PDP with conduit box is factory-wired and labeled to support North American code-compliant Conext XW inverter installations. Additional wiring and breaker kits can be added to a single XW PDP to integrate up to three Conext XW and four MPPT solar charge controllers.
XW conduit box (CB) (865-1025)
The XW CB attaches to the bottom of a single Conext XW, concealing all wiring and creating a neat and square installation alongside both the XW PDP and MPPT solar charge controllers.
XW connection kit (CK) (865-1020)
The XW CK is a wiring kit and single conduit box used to connect a second Conext XW to the XW PDP. All wires are measured, pre-cut and labeled for quick and easy installation.
System control panel (SCP) (865-1050)
The SCP provides a single point of control to setup and monitor an entire system of Conext XW inverter/ chargers, MPPT solar charge controllers and AGS modules.
Automatic generator start (AGS) (865-1060)
The AGS module automatically controls activation of a generator to provide Conext XW with power to recharge depleted batteries or assist with heavy loads. The XW AGS adds intelligent power management and eliminates time spent monitoring batteries and inverter loads.
Conext ComBox communication and monitoring device
(865-1058) Conext ComBox enables Conext inverters and system devices to be remotely configured and monitored. Data logs and event logs for each device, as well as graphical displays of historical and real-time solar system harvest and plant yield are easily reviewed over the internet using a web browser or Android tablet device. ComBox is compatible with Xanbus protocol devices and offers full Modbus conversion.
MPPT 60 150 solar charge controller (865-1030-1)
The MPPT 60 150 solar charge controller tracks the maximum power point of a PV array to deliver the maximum available DC current directly to the battery bank for charging. Deployable as stand-alone or in multiples, the MPPT 60 150 also fully integrates with the Conext XW inverter/charger as a system.
MPPT 80 600 solar charge controller (865-1032)
The MPPT 80 600 solar charge controller offers an industry-first set of features and top performance that allows for large PV array systems to be easily installed and DC coupled to the battery bank at the lowest overall cost. Fast Sweep™ MPPT charging technology helps harvest the most energy available from the PV array, even in partial shade conditions. The 80 A of battery charge current allows for the connection of PV arrays rated up to 600 V. Deployable as stand-alone or in multiples, the MPPT 80 600 also fully integrates with the Conext XW inverter/charger as a system.
