Installation Guide Oneremote Interface Module EXT Type 54 Series OneRemote AV Selector OneRemote AV Splitter OneRemote’s AV Selector is a powered B&O-controlled scart selector that adds 21 pin AV sockets to a Bang & Olufsen TV. Thus the AV Selector is the best choice, when the TV does not have the required number of AV sockets, whether these are to be used for B&O-compatible* equipment surveillance cameras or else. OneRemote’s AV Splitter is a powered B&O-controlled AV distributor that enables up to 4 Bang & Olufsen TVs to share both signal and operability of a B&O-compatible* equipment. Thus the AV Splitter is the best choice when your Bang & Olufsen TVs share a SAT receiver or a DVD player. The AV Selector inputs are selected via the Bang & Olufsen TV with its regular remote control. Connection is carried out with standard 21 pin AV connection cables or with OneRemote’s high quality OneWay 21 pin cables. The OneRemote AV Selector is supplied with 4 AV sockets. Two of these with RGB and all four with S-VHS and CVBS switching. OneWay 21 pin AV cable For easy installation of AV connected equipment high quality one-way cables can be supplied in various lengths with or without soldered connectors. The cable is supplied in black. The connectors can be supplied with screw terminals. The module is used to add B&O-compatibility* to non-Bang & Olufsen equipment connected to a Bang & Olufsen TV. In this module signals from the Bang & Olufsen TV are converted to infrared (IR) control commands for the connected equipment. The module has an external power supply. The communication is via the AV cable and an IR-transmitter diode. This diode transmits the converted signals to the IR- receiver of the connected equipment. Audio and video signals are transmitted via the regular AV connectors. The EXT module is supplied as two versions, one with and one without RGB. Plug and Play The picture shows an IR-transmitter diode taped to the front of the beo-compatible* equipment. Bang & Olufsen TV Models Bang & Olufsen Remote Controls In older models like LX 25/2802 the AV socket is always active and EXT connected equipment may be operated directly by using the remote control commands vor s. All OneRemote interface modules correctly connected to a Bang & Olufsen TV may be operated with your Beolink 1000, 5000, 7000 or Beo4. Indicator Diode The EXT module is equipped with an indicator diode (LED) enabling verification of a correct installation. The LED indicator is flashing until receipt of the first remote command signal via the TV. If flashing does not stop immediately after pressing the remote control keys programming of the TV’s AV connection is not correct or the EXT module is not connected to an AV socket transmitting link data. In newer models like LX 45/50/55/6000 and MX 35/40/55/60/70/8000 the AV sockets have to be programmed to respond to specific remote control commands. This programming is carried out via the TV’s MENU. Reference is made to the TV model’s user guide. Indicator Colour Red means that EXT has detected the connected equipment as being ON or playing(VCR). This EXT detection is important. Without it some equipment models could mistakenly be turned OFF when supposed to be turned on. The correct EXT detection is only possible when the EXT is connected to the equipment’s “TV socket”. Green means that the equipment is OFF or stopped (VCR). Please note that any AV socket used for a EXT connection has to carry link signals for the connected equipment to become B&Ocompatible*. In the most recent models like Beovision Avant, Beovision 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7 the number of useable AV sockets vary. Thus reference is made to each model’s user guide. The module equipped AV connector is installed in the ”TV socket” of the equipment and the opposite end of the cable connects to a “link equipped” vacant AV socket of the Bang & Olufsen TV. The power supply connects to the mains. If the Bang & Olufsen TV does not have a The IR-transmitter diode is taped to the front useable vacant AV socket a OneRemote AV of the equipment as close as possible to its Selector can be supplied. IR-receiver. Page 2 Page 3 With Beo4 the operation is slightly easier. Thus Beo4 is the recommended remote control. *B&O-compatible means that the equipment is installed as a Bang & Olufsen product and can be operated with a Bang & Olufsen remote control when connected to a Bang & Olufsen TV.
