CAM LOCK SYSTEM OPERATION
HOW THE KNOCK DOWN (KD) ASSEMBLY SYSTEM WORKS 1. 2. 3. 4.
Screw the Cam Bolt into the threaded insert on the panel. Insert the Cam Lock into the pre-drilled hole on panel. Make sure Cam Lock pointed arrow is pointed towards the entry of Cam Bolt. Connect both panels together; making sure the Cam Bolt goes into the pre-drilled hole on the end of the panel with the Cam Lock. 5. Once the Cam Bolt is connected inside the Cam Lock, take a Phillips screwdriver (not included) and tighten the Cam Lock clockwise. You are now ready to assemble the desk.

Assembly Instructions 1. Unpack the unit and confirm that you have all the hardware and required parts. Assembly the unit on a carpeted floor or the empty carton to avoid any scratch. 2. Insert four Small Wood Dowels (8) half way into the pre-drilled holes on the Fixed Shelf (E) by tapping lightly with a rubber mallet, if necessary. Position 2 Divider Panels (F) onto the inserted Wood Dowels and press them together.

3. Insert eight Small Wood Dowels (8) into the drilled holes of the Fixed Shelf (E) at both ends. 4. Align the middle holes on Pedestal Front and Back Panels (D) with the inserted Wood Dowels (8) on the Fixed Shelf (E) and press them together. Make sure that the threaded holes on the bottom of Pedestal Panels (D) point towards the same direction.

Assembly Instructions 5. Insert four Small Wood Dowels (8) into the end holes of bottom Divider Panel (F) and insert three Large Wood Dowels (7) into each end of the Pedestal Front/Back Panels (D). 6. Using the inserted wood dowels as a guide, attach the Bottom Panel (C) to the Pedestal Front/Back Panels (D) by screwing four 2-1/4” Bolts (1) with Lock Washers (2) and Flat Washers (3) into the countersunk holes on the Bottom Panel. Tighten the bolts with 5 mm Allen Wrench.

7. Securely screw six Cam Bolts (10) into the designated threaded holes on the Desk Top (A), using a Phillips screwdriver. As shown.

Assembly Instructions 8. Insert four Small Wood Dowels (8) into the end holes of the upper Divider Panel (F) and insert three Large Wood Dowels (7) into each end of the Pedestal Front/Back Panels (D). Position the Desk Top (A) onto the inserted wood dowels and secure it in place by engaging four Cam Locks (9) (Refer to page 2 on Cam lock system operation supplement).

D 9. Align and attach the Side Panel (B) to the Desk Top (A) using three Large Wood Dowels (7) and two Cam Locks (9). As shown. Make sure that the Cam Locks face inward.

Assembly Instructions 10. Proceed to secure the Side Panel (B) to the Desk Top (A) by attaching 2 Metal Connectors (G) at the joints. As shown. Make sure that the curved plates of Metal Brackets (G) face outward. Insert four 20 mm Bolts (4) with Lock Washers (5) and Flat Washers (6) through the drilled holes on each Metal Connector (G) and screw into the threaded inserts. Tighten the bolts with the provided 4 mm Allen Wrench.

11. Ask for assistance to stand the unit upright and position it at the desired location. 12. Plug six Plastic Caps (11) onto the cams lock holes on the Side Panel (B) and Pedestal Panels (D) to conceal the Cam Locks. Gently tap the Plastic Caps with a rubber mallet to ensure they are fully seated. The desk is now ready for use.

The following steps are only for those who wish to combine the desk with our Roast Hazelnut Room Divider (model # RHRD, sold separately) together. NOTE: The unit is designed to combine with our Roast Hazelnut Room Divider (model# RHRD, sold separately). If you buy the Room Divider, the work center configuration can be available. Use the illustration on page 1 as reference. 13. To combine the desk with our Roast Hazelnut Room Divider (sold separately), first unscrew the Cam Locks (9) to remove the Side Panel (B) or the assembled pedestal from the Desk Top (A), depending on the configuration that you want to own. You need to unscrew the bolts to remove the Metal Connectors (G) as well, if you want to keep the pedestal. NOTE: Keep the Side Panel (B) or pedestal components and the fasteners at a proper place in case you will use it. 14. Fasten two Metal Brackets (H) against the side edge of the Desk Top (A); using two 20 mm Bolts (4) and two Washers (5 and 6) per metal bracket. As shown.

Assembly Instructions 15. Stand the unit upright and fit the Metal Brackets (H) onto the Center Divider of Roast Hazelnut Room Divider properly. Make sure that the Desk Top (A) and the Side Panels of Room Divider are even with each other. To secure the Desk Top (A) in place, tighten the set screw located on the bottom side of both Metal Brackets (H) by turning the screw clockwise. 16. Position the Storage Baskets included on the Room Divider onto the desired compartments to finish the assembly.

Care and Maintenance
Use a soft, clean cloth that will not scratch the surface when dusting. Use of furniture polish is not necessary. Should you choose to use polish, test first in an inconspicuous area. Using solvents of any kind on your furniture may damage your furniture’s finish. Never use water to clean your furniture as it may cause damage to the finish. Always use coasters under beverage glasses and flowerpots. Liquid spills should be removed immediately. Using a soft clean cloth, blot the spill gently. Avoid rubbing. Always use protective pads under hot dishes and plates. Heat can cause chemical changes that may create spotting within the furniture finish. Stains or marks from crayons or ink markers will be difficult to remove. In the event that your furniture is stained or otherwise damaged during use, we recommend that you call a professional to repair your furniture. Check bolts/screws periodically and tighten them if necessary.
Further advice about wood furniture care It is best to keep your furniture in a climate controlled environment. Extreme temperature and humidity changes can cause warping, shrinking and splitting of wood. It is advised to keep furniture away from direct sunlight as may damage the finish. Proper care and cleaning at home will extend the life of your purchase. Following these important and helpful tips will enhance your furniture as it ages.
