A fully populated DDC compliant assembly with HD15 male / male or male / female connectors utilizing our Super Thin cable, reversible hardware plus a low profile break connector. The low profile break connector's small size (.75" wide /1.9cm) allows routing through .75" (1.9cm) conduit and through tight spaces that would not accommodate the size of a HD15 connector. In building construction, the space used for air circulation (heating and air conditioning) is called the plenum. This space is also commonly used to route communications cable. This poses a serious hazard in the event of fire due to lack of barriers to contain the smoke and flames. This is why various fire codes and the National Electrical Code (NEC) require the use of fire resistant and low smoke producing cable in these areas. This type of cable is called plenum cable which is made with a fire retardant compound that exhibits self extinguishing characteristics.
