Operating Instructions For Models #RCV-2400 / #RCV-2400sc / #RCV-2400x
Receiver Connections
Connect the 12VDC power supply into the barrel jack connector located on the back of the receiver. Locate the ON / OFF switch located on the receiver. Move the switch to the ON position.
Connect RCA (M) video / audio cables from receiver to monitor source as shown.
# RCV-2400 - Directional Antenna Alignment Rotate the receive antenna so that it is facing in the general direction of the transmitter. Do not rotate antenna more than 280 degrees Select matching channel to wireless camera by depressing channel select button on top of receiver.
# RCV-2400sc / RCV-2400x - Antenna Connection NOTE : Receiver Antenna Not Included Connect the rubber duck antenna or other antenna source( Not Included ) to the TNC-female connector on the receiver. Turn the antenna clockwise to attach.. Hand tighten ONLY - Do not over tighten. Only use antennas specifically designed for the 2.4GHz frequency band. Optional High Gain antennas can be used to dramatically increase transmitting range. Select matching channel to wireless camera by depressing channel select button on top of receiver.
Turn antenna clockwise to tighten
RCV-2400x - Alarm Input Connection Connect the RCA (M) cable assembly into the white RCA (F) input as shown Connect the positive wire of the RCA (M) cable assembly to the positive wire of the device that receives the alarm signal. Connect the negative wire (raw wire) of the RCA (M) cable assembly to the negative wire of the device that receives the alarm signal.
Operating Tips If using an adapter, only use the VideoComm Technologies adaptor supplied. (VCT part # PS – 1250). • If using more than one wireless camera system in the same location, ensure each link is operating on a different channel. • Do not encapsulate the antenna in any kind of metal enclosure. Plastic, wood or other materials are satisfactory. • Avoid pointing the camera directly into light or extreme sunlight. • Receiver is not waterproof! Do not use in wet or high humidity environments, this may result in damage or electrical shock. • For maximum operating range, try to minimize the number of obstacles (TV, other electronics, large steel structures) between the camera and receiver units. • Confirm the set up for receiver is complete. Confirm Power is “ON”. Confirm correct channel is selected on the receiver. • Check the Video Out cables from the receiver to the monitor / time lapse VCR / DVR are connected properly. • Operating the transmitter when it is closer than 10 feet to the receiver may cause interference or distorted video image. • Commercial or Consumer Microwave cooking appliances & some 2.4GHz cordless phones, may or may not effect the video picture quality when the appliance is in use.
Troubleshooting Snow on the Monitor A “Snowy” or distorted video picture could indicate poor RF signal from your transmitting device. This can happen if there are to many obstructions between the transmitter and receiver. • Move the transmitter and receiver closer together or re=orient the receiver antenna • Eliminate obstructions between the transmitter and receiver.
Interference We strongly recommend that you always conduct a temporary setup of any wireless equipment before systems are permanently installed. As we are sharing a radio frequency that is considered part of the public band, we do not have any entitlement to that frequency and must accept interference if it exists. Examples of RF Interference •Other 2.4GHz video transmitters in your area. • 2.4GHz wireless data network, wireless LAN or WiFi. • Proximity to some consumer products may be a source of interference. Examples include cordless phones, consumer data transceivers for wireless internet, baby monitors, microwave ovens and Bluetooth devices. • Improper line-of-sight, installation or alignment of transmitters and receivers. • Power source ground loops or sharing power supplies between devices. • Incorrect voltages to devices (too high or too low), including transmitters and receivers. • Power source is too close to video cable, low impedance, coax cable kinks, poor video cable terminations, improper and/or lengthy power source cabling. • Corresponding transmitter and receiver sets are on different channels.
