The following CDs can be played on this unit. B Video CD: (Motion picture + audio) Only compact discs having this mark can be used. A Version 2.0 C These discs have PBC so you can control video and high resolution still pictures with menus. Version 1.1 These discs do not have PBC so
only normal video play is possible. Audio CD: Only compact discs having this mark can be used. B Only audio play is possible. This unit can play CD-DA (digital audio), MP3 and video CD format CD-R and CD-RW that have been finalized (a process that enables CD-R/CD-RW players to play CD-R and CDRW) upon completion of recording. It may not be able to play some CD-R or CD-RW due to the condition of the recording. D Wireless Remote Control Preparations Battery installation C Open the battery cover as shown in the figure. Insert two R6, AA, UM-3 (included) as shown on the left. · Align the poles d and e correctly when inserting the batteries. · Do not use rechargeable type batteries. E Mishandling of batteries can cause electrolyte leakage which can damage items the fluid contacts and may cause a fire. If electrolyte leaks from the batteries, consult your dealer. Wash thoroughly with water if electrolyte comes in contact with any part of your body. Battery removal D 7m Press and push up batteries from the d end to remove them. Preparation: Switch on the TV and select the VIDEO input mode. 1 Slide [OPEN :] to open the lid, and insert the video CD. a Label must face upward. The unit comes on and a menu appears on the TV (it may not appear immediately). Please refer to the TV operating instructions manual for adjusting the TV volume. 4 Menus depend on the discs. Read the disc's instructions and screen display when selecting menu items. However, it is impossible to play some moving or still pictures. In this case, use PBC play. Slide [OPEN :] to open the lid. Once the disc has stopped, lift the disc out with your finger. Do not stop the disc by hand or try to remove it before it stops rotating. This can damage CDs. Note Never insert foreign objects into the unit. Some simple checks or a minor adjustment on your part may eliminate the problem and restore proper operation. If you are in doubt about some of the check points, or if the remedies indicated in the chart do not solve the problem, consult your dealer for instructions. Problem Cannot close the cover. Cannot play discs. Check this Is the disc properly secured in place? · Is the unit in HOLD mode? · Is the disc properly secured in place? · Is there condensation on the lens? (Wait for about an hour and then try again.) · Is the disc dirty or scratched or the lens dirty? (Wipe the disc clean and clean the lens. If it is an MP3 disc and is badly scratched, re-record the files onto a fresh disc.) The CD player is designed to stop the rotation of a MP3 or audio disc during playback to reduce the power consumption. The player is not malfunctioning. Maintenance If the surfaces are dirty To clean this unit, wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Maintaining the lens Open the lid and clean the lens as shown in the figure.
