Overview The OptiSwitch 800T and 1200T chassis are designed as high-end switching platforms for data-communications and telecommunications applications. Together with the full range of QoS and rate limiting capabilities, an array of Optical interfaces, copper, VDSL and E1/T1 options coupled with full management and security options, these systems provide the ideal solution for deployment of access solutions in street cabinets or in the central office especially where utilizing minimal rack space is critical. The OptiSwitch solutions are exceptionally suited for Telecom operators and service providers, with the following unique features: High port density per rack-space The OptiSwitch 800T and 1200T chassis are designed for installation in street cabinets or in central offices, which are characterized by their limited space for system installation. The OptiSwitch 1200T chassis can accommodate a maximum 96 ports of 10/100 Ethernet, Optical Ethernet, copper, VDSL or E1/T1* ports . OptiSwitch 800T can accommodate up to 64 of these interfaces. This minimal rack-space signature is achieved through the use of cutting-edge multi-layer electronic layout and advanced mechanical design, which minimize space while reducing heat and EMC released, to the central office environment.
Back-to-back installation in a Telco rack The OptiSwitch 1200T and 800T are 24 cm deep, in a design that enables the installation of two systems, back to back in standard 19” Telco racks. This feature doubles the ‘port-per-rack space’ ratio. Maximum port density per 40U rack: 1200T - 1536 optical ports (16 chassis) 800T - 1280 optical ports (20 chassis)

Front facing system configuration As systems that are installed in a backto-back configuration, the OptiSwitch 1200T and 800T are designed with Maximum port density per rack: front-loading modular power supplies, 1200T - 1536 optical ports modules and management interface. 800T - 1280 optical ports This feature eliminates the need to dismount the systems for maintenance or installation of new hardware after initial installation. Indented module surface The front panels of the modules are indented in relation to the power supplies to allow additional space for connectors and cabling to be conveniently connected to the rack. This indented design is ideal for installation of high-density fiber optic cables, where connector space is critical for connector integrity. Another application that requires this step is installation in street cabinets, where a very limited space is available for attaching the cables. tem is still in operation. This enables the installation of additional modules or replacement of modules with higher speed or Interface type, without interrupting the operation of the other (already installed) modules.
The OptiSwitch 1200T and 800T use the same type of modular power supplies, which are available with AC, -48 DC or 24V DC options. The DC options are ideal for installation in Central Offices and street cabinets where –48 current is usually used.
Further enhancing the OptiSwitch™ options
Like in all the OptiSwitch products, full in-band and out-of band management is enabled with a Built-in SNMP agent. The management can be accessed through either SNMP or through the Command Line Interface (CLI). In all the OptiSwitch systems full security and management communication protection features are available as well as a range of statistics and monitoring options. The OptiSwitch 1200T and 800T can be managed through the MegaVision NMS, MRV’s comprehensive GUI SNMP system or through any other standard SNMP system.
All these Carrier class features are added to the unmatched flexibility and adaptability of the OptiSwitch™ family, which allows customer connections to be increased according to the natural growth of the network. This flexible approach is also the most economical – as no redundant interfaces and systems have to be installed, inventory can be reduced, logistics simplified and parts can be inter-changed with other systems in the network.
