Overview Our 4’ 20W LED T8 lamps replace legacy 4’ (T8/T10/T12) fluorescent lamps resulting in superior flicker-free and “dotless” illumination with 20% less power consumed. These LED lamps offer a greener energy solution with no toxic phosphors or hazardous mercury. No starters or ballasts are required and with up to 50,000 hours operating life, there is little to no maintenance required after installation. A patented 180 dg rotating end cap allows exact beam angle adjustment. This product is UL approved for retrofit installations and meets FCC & CE-EMC code requirements. Warning 1 2  These products may represent a possible shock or fire hazard if improperly installed or attached in any way. Products should be installed in accordance with these instructions, any applicable electrical codes and/or the current National Electric Code (NEC).  Risk of fire or electric shock. Retrofit installation requires knowledge of fluorescent lighting fixture wiring. If not qualified, do not attempt installation. Contact a qualified electrician.  Risk of fire or electric shock. These T8 LED lamps are not compatible with luminaires employing shunted bi-pin lamp holders Note: Imtra T8 lamps are designed to be used with non-shunted Sockets. Shunted lamp holders are common in fluorescent fixtures with Instant-Start ballasts. See photo below. Instant-Start ballasts can be identified by the words “Instant Start” or “I.S.” or the designation “IS” within the lamp marking on the ballast. Installation & Wiring 1. Disconnect power at source. 2. Remove diffuser lens (if applicable) and fluorescent lamp(s). 3. Open\Remove Wiring Compartment Cover. 4. Disconnect all ballast wires from all lamp sockets and AC power supply wiring. The ballast will be completely bypassed and may be removed if desired. Fig. 1 5. Confirm type of “tombstone” sockets (see Fig. 1) and remove only the shunted sockets that will be connected to AC voltage. VS. Non-Shunted Internally Shunted 6. Connect black (L) and white (N) AC power supply wires to the two terminals on the lamp socket. If the fixture has more than one lamp, connect one socket per lamp in parallel. Leave socket(s) at the opposite end of each lamp disconnected from power. See Fig. 2 below: If you do not have the correct type of sockets, these may be sourced directly through Imtra or any electrical supply outlet. If you are unsure which socket you need, please contact Imtra. Note: For fluorescent fixtures with starters, the starters must be disconnected from the circuit. Please do not remove the starter(s) from the fixture as this may create an opening through which moisture and water may enter. CAUTION: Fig. 2 1. Make sure that the electrical power to the fixture is disconnected prior to any installation or retrofit. 2. Read all instructions regarding ballast bypass and non-shunted sockets before beginning retrofit. 3. Caution: Risk of Electric Shock. Do not use where directly exposed to water! 7. Insert the wired sockets back in to their mounting slots, pressing in until fully seated. 4. Not for use with dimmers. 8. Close compartment cover (plate). Install lamps making sure the end labeled “Single-End Input” is inserted into the socket connected to AC voltage. Re-attach the lens diffuser cover plate. 5. Do not use in conjunction with any type of ballast or driver. LED T8 Tubes are designed for 100-277V AC, 50/60Hz input only. 9. Restore power to circuit and switch on fixture to test. 3 4 Scenarios Limited Warranty 1.
