Scientifica offer height adjustable platforms for upright and inverted microscopes from Olympus, Zeiss, Nikon and Leica. Used in combination with these platforms are either manual or motorised translation stages which allow the microscope objective to be positioned over the complete preparation. Upright SlicePlatform The SlicePlatform provides a large, extremely stable mounting surface onto which several manipulators and the sample can be mounted. Fully height adjustable legs accommodate any microscope, whilst the unique rotating slotted inserts mean that it can be attached to any standard vibration platform. The sliding carriage design enables you to easily position whichever manipulators you choose, including the PatchStar, at any orientation to the microscope objective. Inverted SlicePlatform Similar to the upright solution, this innovative design is specific for inverted microscopes and provides a mounting surface onto which several manipulators and the sample can be mounted. The height adjustable legs make this platform compatible with microscopes from Olympus, Nikon, Leica and Zeiss. The sliding carriages allow manipulators to be easily positioned. UMS with Z focus SlicePlatform with manual XY and two PatchStars www.scientifica.uk.com Universal Motorised Stage UMS The Scientifica UMS provides rapid, accurate and intuitive remote control which removes the effort and potential for error from the adjustment process. The 400mm x 200mm UMS provides complete microscope support and the 50mm of travel in both the X and Y axes allows you to roam the largest of samples. An optional Z axis focus control is also available providing fully automated control. Speed can be controlled down to 1 micron per second, making this motorised stage more accurate than any manually adjustable system. Choose between a joystick or control cube for positioning your stage with all systems coming complete with the option of PC control. The ability to store and recall up to 50 memory positions in X, Y and Z (focus) ensures that every site of interest can be referenced. Nikon Eclipse FN1 with SlicePlatform and UMS The ultra low noise electronics means you can continue to record sensitive signals even during microscope adjustment. Manual Stage Axioskop 2 FS Plus with SlicePlatform & UMS The manual stage offers positioning control of your microscope. High capacity crossed roller bearings ensure 25 mm of super smooth travel in X & Y axes. High performance micrometers allow fingertip control and the capability to change from right to left-handed operation provides added convenience. Its large 200 x 400 mm footprint means that the stage can support even the heaviest of microscopes. Olympus IX71 with inverted SlicePlatform and manual XY stage PatchPro PatchPro Systems The PatchPro system is a fully integrated patch clamping solution and is a revolutionary approach to patch clamp electrophysiology. It allows the user to control manipulators, microscope platforms, microscope focus and temperature control all from one neat, simple user console. With the versatility to have up to 12 individual modules, the PatchPro will be perfect for your current and future experimental needs. At any time you can add additional manipulators or heater units. Imaging Platforms Imaging Platforms Movable Top Plate (MTP) Cutaway image of Motorised Movable Top Plate Motorised Movable Top Plate (MMTP) The MTP is an ultra stable microscope stage ideal for use with confocal or multiphoton microscopes. In situations where your microscope is firmly attached to the table top, the MTP still provides you with the freedom to manually search for different areas of interest in different fields of view of the microscope objective. The Top Plate can be moved over a distance of 25mm in X and Y direction with fingertip control using micrometers; the smoothness of the motion allows the investigator to maintain a patched cell whilst moving the stage. Combining the height adjustable legs with a large condenser working area makes the Movable Top Plate compatible with all leading brands of upright microscopes. Compatible with all major upright microscopes the MMTP is ideal for use with a confocal or multiphoton system. It offers 25 mm of super smooth X & Y travel with a resolution of 20 nm. The manipulators and sample can be positioned as one, allowing movement to different fields of view of the objective, whilst the microscope remains fixed. This means that you can image different areas of interest whilst maintaining delicate patch clamp experiments. Up to 50 memory positions can be stored and recalled in XY & Z (focus) axes. The ultra low noise electronics means you can continue to record sensitive signals even during sample adjustment. Platform positioning can be carried out by either a joystick, control cube or with a PC. www.scientifica.uk.com Close up of manual Movable Top Plate s Post and Platform (P&P) LBM 7 Build your experiments on a firm base. The LBM-7 was designed and developed in conjunction with scientists to be stable, have low drift and be easy to use. It bridges the gap between coarse manipulators and micromanipulators. The Scientifica Post and Platform offers a versatile yet very stable platform for mounting manipulators, tissue samples and other equipment around your microscope. The choice of a bolt down or a magnetic base means that the P&P will be suitable for many different table tops. The platform is fully height adjustable and has the benefit of a convenient swing in/swing out function. Post and Platform with magnetic and bolt down base Affectionately known as the Little Blue Manipulator, this device can be easily configured from left to right-handed. With seven axes of movement, four liner and three rotational, combined with micron resolution, the LBM-7 was designed to serve the scientist in a broad range of applications that include: Q Positioning Stimulating Electrodes Q Inserting extracellular recording probes Q Aligning perfusion and drug delivery systems Q Impaling oocytes LBM7 Drug Delivery C Chambers & Perfusion SliceMate Pumped Perfusion System (PPS) The SliceMate utilizes cutting edge technology to give outstanding temperature control in a compact, easy and convenient package which replaces the clumsy, slow reacting and problematic water bath designs. Control the delivery of up to 8 solutions to your experiment using the Pumped Perfusion System. With no electrical noise the digital temperature control and twin temperature sensors ensure that the SliceMate offers fast, repeatable temperature regulation. A peltier element allows you to heat or cool the solution whilst a data file of the actual temperature is recorded. The bath itself can be easily removed and exchanged for cleaning, as can all of the tubing within the system. Different size baths are available for a variety of preparations. Designed for electrophysiological experiments, the ultra low noise controller ensures that there is no electrical noise from the peristaltic pump or the high performance pinch valves. This system comes with a clear and simple to use Graphical User Interface which allows you the control the speed of the peristaltic pump, as well as the switching and timing of each perfusion channel. Perfusion rates between 0.5 - 20 ml per minute are easily reproduced. Each solution can be re-circulated or sent to waste simply by the click of a mouse. The pinch valves and disposable tubing ensure easy maintenance making the PPS a reliable drug delivery system.
