BATTERY REPLACEMENT YOUR REMOTE USES AN RCB23A (12v 23amp) BATTERY WHICH ARE AVAILABLE FROM YOUR MONGOOSE AGENT OR ELECTRONIC SHOP.
ROLLING CODE The security code of the alarm system changes each time you press the remote button. This coding system is completely random therefore eliminating the possibility of recording it (code grabbing). As there are billions of code combinations the chances of duplication are literally billions to one. Additional remote controls may be added as the alarm module can memorise up to four remote controls. Refer to code learning section of the installation manual. ARMING THE SYSTEM TO BE FULLY TESTED Before arming the system, turn off and remove the keys from the ignition. Close all windows and doors. Check that the bonnet and boot are also closed. The system is armed by depressing button ONE on the remote control momentarily (approx. 1.5 seconds). It is important to press the button for the recommended time as a shorter duration may not activate the system. Verify that the small red LED on the remote illuminates. You will notice the indicators flash once and the siren chirps once to indicate that the system is armed. The dash board warning light ,LED, will slow flash to indicate armed mode. 1 0 /1 1 /1 9 9 8

If the vehicle has central locking, and it has been connected to this security system, the doors will lock at the same time as arming. SILENT ARMING/DISARMING (i.e. arming without the chirps) Press button TWO followed by button ONE to silently arm or disarm the system. The chirps may be permanently turned off at time of installation, see programming options. DISARMING THE SYSTEM TO BE FULLY TESTED Press button ONE on the remote control to disarm the system. The siren will chirp twice and the indicators will flash twice. The doors will also unlock if the alarm is wired to the vehicles central locking system. The Perimeter Nite Lite feature will then light the indicators for 15 seconds to illuminate the perimeter. AUTOMATIC ARMING - PROGRAMMABLE TO BE FULLY TESTED This feature is factory set in the ‘off’ position. Your customer may choose to have this feature programmed ‘on’ for added security. This option is a mandatory requirement of some insurance companies. Upon closing the last door, the system fast flashes the LED for 30 seconds, after which it chirps the siren once and gives one flash of the indicators to indicate the system automatically armed. Opening a door during the 30 seconds will suspend the countdown which will recommence on door closure. AUTOMATIC ENGINE START DISABLE STANDARD FEATURE, NOT PROGRAMMABLE TO BE FULLY TESTED This security system disables an engine circuit to prevent engine starting when the system is armed. If the system has been programmed with the automatic arming feature above, the engine will be automatically disabled at the same time as the system is armed, otherwise the automatic engine start disable arms independently 30 seconds after last door closure. If an attempt is made to start the engine when automatically disabled, the siren will chirp for 15 seconds. If an attempt is made to start the engine when armed by remote, the siren will sound and the indicators will flash. Press button one on the remote to cancel siren sounding and re-engage the engine for starting. DOORS, BONNET AND BOOT PROTECTION The siren will sound for 30 seconds should any of these be opened when the system is armed. The indicators will continue to flash for 5 minutes after the siren sounding. If a circuit is left open, the siren will cycle 3 times and the indicators will flash for a further 5 minutes (In NSW, the siren will sound for 30 seconds once only and must then be manually reset). The system does require the vehicle to be fitted with courtesy light door switches for these to trigger the alarm. If these are not fitted to the vehicle the alarm will not operate correctly. Fitting door switches will incur extra costs and are not included in this product. 2 STAGE SHOCK / IMPACT SENSOR The impact sensor is designed to detect major vehicle movement such as impact to the bodywork, vehicle towing or glass breakage. It may also be triggered by shock waves produced from loud exhausts, thunder and heavy vehicle traffic. It should not be triggered by normal wind or rocking motions. The impact sensor is a simple plug-in type at both ends. Each time the impact sensor receives a light impact, the siren will chirp a few times and indicators flash twice as a warning. If the impact sensor receives a heavier impact, the siren sounds for 30 seconds (NSW one sounding only). The noise pollution circuits will bypass each trigger after they have been activated 3 times. 3 times for soft touch and 3 times for heavy impact. This can be reset by remote or by turning ignition on then off. Avoid over sensitivity adjustment as people nearby may not respond due to the alarm triggering too often through false alarms. PANIC BY REMOTE (in either armed or disarmed state) The alarm can be ‘panicked’ by pressing button one on the remote for more than 3 seconds. The siren will sound and the indicators will flash. (Panic does not operate with the ignition on). To cancel the panic, press button one on the remote. SENSOR DISABLE BY REMOTE (those connected to the side sensor port) There are times when you may wish to deactivate sensors such as the impact sensor to prevent false alarms through heavy traffic noise or other disturbances.

To turn off the sensor, but arm the bonnet, boot and doors, press button one as normal followed by button two. You will hear a chirp for arming followed by two tones indicating the sensor(s) are turned off. AUTOMATIC RESET Upon being triggered, the siren will sound for 30 seconds, after which, it will stop and reset to the armed position. It will then re-trigger on the next intrusion. (NSW, one sounding only - must be manually re-set) ARM CONDITION MEMORY Should the vehicle battery be disconnected, the system memorises the last set position of the alarm. If the alarm was disarmed prior to battery disconnection, reconnection does not cause the alarm to sound. If the battery was disconnected whilst the system was armed, reconnection will return the system to the armed state. If the system has the optional battery back-up siren, vehicle battery disconnection will cause the battery back-up siren to sound - this is turned off at the siren with the special key provided. ELECTRONIC SIREN (‘S’ models are equipped with a battery back-up siren) This is to be mounted under the bonnet. It should be situated in a place to protect it from heat and water damage. Driving through deep water or puddles may cause water splashes. Please check that the siren has been mounted in such a position so as to avoid damaging it. If washing the engine bay, cover the siren with a plastic bag to prevent water damage. Heat or water damage is not covered by the warranty. EMERGENCY OVERRIDE SWITCH TO BE FULLY TESTED The override switch must be mounted in a hidden location that only the vehicle owner knows its location. Do not fit in a visible position or an obvious place. Ensure the vehicle owner knows the location. If the system fails to respond to the remote control, you can override it as follows; 1) Open the door with the ignition key - leave the door open. 2) Turn on the ignition. 3) Press the override switch a few of times to bypass and deactivate the system. 4) The vehicle can now be started. The override switch has no function unless the ignition is turned on. If the siren just chirps whilst attempting to start the engine, leave a door open, turn ignition off then on and press the override. If the indicators flash and the siren sounds fully because engine starting was attempted after being set by remote, the override will not operate - this is to prevent ‘hot wiring’. It is therefore critical that the remote controls are fully functional. AUXILIARY OUTPUT - BUTTON TWO ON THE REMOTE The system provides an auxiliary output and can be connected to control an electric boot release or any other desired circuit. Pressing button TWO for 3 seconds activates the auxiliary output. VALET MODE - LED PERMANENTLY LIT TO BE FULLY TESTED Valet mode turns off the system but still allows remote operation of the central locking if connected. Valet mode should only be used when you intentionally want to disable the security system such as when the vehicle is in for a service or is being parked by an attendant. To activate, turn on the ignition and press remote buttons ONE and TWO at the same time for over three seconds. The LED will now stay PERMANENTLY LIT INDICATING VALET MODE. To return the system to its normal state, repeat the above procedure. Valet mode is automatically cancelled after ignition on/off 5 times. INDICATOR FLASHING When the siren sounds, the indicators flash simultaneously. If these are ‘shorted’, the siren continues to sound. The indicators will also flash on arming and disarming the system. INTRUSION ALERT When disarming, if the siren chirps four times and the indicators flash 3 times you know the system has been triggered. Refer to LED flash codes to show which circuit has been triggered. Turning the ignition ‘on’ resets the flash codes. INDICATOR FLASH CODES 1 0 /1 1 /1 9 9 8

G) 3 flashes - indicates door circuit activated. H) 4 flashes - indicates impact, shock, sensor triggered. I) 5 flashes - indicates engine start attempted. SECURITY REARM & RELOCK TO BE FULLY TESTED The system will automatically rearm if it has been disarmed by remote but a door has not been opened within 30 seconds. Doors will also re-lock if connected. For the security rearm feature to operate, the system must have been initially set by the remote control. This is to prevent the keys being locked in the vehicle. This feature cannot be programmed off. DO NOT CONFUSE THIS FEATURE WITH AUTOMATIC ARMING. IGNITION SAFETY DOOR LOCK - PROGRAMMABLE TO BE FULLY TESTED If the system has been connected to a vehicle with central locking, the doors will lock 3 seconds after ignition ‘on’ and unlock with ignition ‘off’. If a door is left open for more than 3 seconds after the ignition has been turned on the safety door lock feature will be bypassed. CENTRAL LOCKING TO BE FULLY TESTED This security system has built-in relays to operate a vehicles existing central locking system by remote control. When connected, the doors will lock and unlock at the same time as arming or disarming. NOISE POLLUTION CONTROL To reduce noise, the M560 will isolate the siren output after 30 seconds. The indicators will continue to flash for 5 minutes as a warning. Reset by remote or by turning the ignition ‘on’ then ‘off’.
PROGRAMMABLE OPTIONS (Items marked are factory defaults) When the system is being installed, there are a few choices to enable or disable certain features. Refer to the installation on enabling/disabling these features. Discuss and explain these to the customer prior to installation; 1. Automatic (passive) arming ...... OFF 2. Chirps on / off ON ….. 3. • Automatic Arming: System will arm the bonnet, boot, doors and any other sensors 30 seconds after ignition off and last door closed. Engine is automatically immobilised at the same time. Automatic engine immobilisation cannot be turned off. (The doors will not lock unless programmed to do so). • Chirps: The chirps can be permanently turned off. Only the indicators confirm the arming and disarming. We suggest that you use the ‘silent arming by remote’ feature as an alternative to turning them off - press button 2 followed by button 1 to silently operate the system. • Ignition Safety Door Lock: System will automatically lock all doors 3 seconds after the ignition is turned on providing all doors are closed. Leaving a door open for more than 3 seconds during engine starting bypasses this feature. Doors will automatically unlock when turning ignition off. • Automatic Door Lock: Doors are linked to the automatic arming function. Be sure you want this feature as you may lock the keys in the ignition when closing the doors. Only operates when automatic arming is on. • Door Lock Pulse: The pulse length may be changed to allow for vehicle requirements. 0.5 sec for electric CDL and 3.5 sec for vacuum systems. • Door Diagnostics: Permits the system to monitor when a door is open during arming and gives a warning should this occur. May be defeated for vehicles with dome light delay to avoid incorrect siren warnings. • Perimeter Nite Lite: Upon disarming, indicators will stay lit for 15 seconds to give exterior illumination. • NSW Siren Timing: It is a mandatory requirement in New South Wales, Australia, for vehicle alarm systems to sound the siren for one cycle of 30 seconds only before it is reset manually by remote control. With this feature turned on, the indicators will continue to flash for 5 minutes. Factory default is multiple soundings. • Standard Siren Timing - default: The siren will sound for 3 cycles of 30 seconds if a door has been left open. After this time, the noise pollution circuits will cancel the siren sounding and the indicators will continue to flash for a further 5 minutes. Subsequent triggers will repeat this process.
