OWN-BRAND SPEEDFLASH IS ANOTHER BRIGHT IDEA FROM KENRO Kenro Ltd, the specialist photo & video distributor for the UK and Ireland, has introduced a unique own-brand TTL flashgun that fits both Nikon and Canon cameras using the same flash head, making it more convenient for those with both camera systems. Fitting both Nikon i-TTL and Canon e-TTL systems ‘out of the box’, the new Kenro Speedflash KFL101 features high speed synchronization (up to 1/8000s), S1 and S2 slave functions, fast recycle time (2.3s), manual or autozoom (18-180mm), built-in wide-angle diffuser and reflector card, among other great features. This versatile flashgun is aimed at both pros and keen amateurs, and with a guide number of 58 (ISO100, 180mm) and a wireless flash distance indoors of up to 30m and outdoors up to 15m, this is a very impressive flash for the price. The comprehensive LCD screen (with backlight option) and function buttons on the rear ensure the user is in full control of the unit at all times. Flash modes are: automatic (TTL, e-TTL, i-TTL), manual (M), stroboscopic (multi), Canon / Nikon master, slave light (SLAVE c, SLAVE n, S1, S2) and surrounded by flash exposure (FEB). Other great features include: rear curtain sync, rotating flash head, 4 communication channels and 3 slave unit groups, 5500K colour temperature, flash time 1/200s – 1/20,000s, power saving mode, overheat protection and manual flash control of 1/128 – 1/1 step 0.3EV. External connections include hot shoe, PC sync and external power supply. Size is 7 x 6.5 x 20cm and weight is 460g. It operates on 4 standard AA batteries. Also included in the box are carry case, softbox, user manual and flash stand. The Kenro Speedflash KFL101 retails for SRP £95.94 incl VAT. Paul Kench, Kenro’s managing director, says: “We’re very excited about the release of our first Kenro-branded full-featured flashgun. We looked at the kind of features photographers use most in a mid-range flash gun and have tried to incorporate as much as we can, while keeping the cost below the £100 retail mark. Initial feedback from both dealers and users has been excellent, especially since the gun fits both Nikon and Canon cameras with no need for an adapter.” All quoted prices are SRP guide, including VAT.
