Foreword More than 70 years ago spring reverb systems were used to bring the natural reverberations of cathedrals into the homes of Hammond organ players. Over the years they got smaller and more reliable and became what we know today as spring tanks. Nowadays reverbs were simulated more accurate and natural with the help of digital technology and software. Despite, or maybe because of this, the typical spring reverb sound with all its rough edges and flaws is highly requested. The VSR-3 vintage spring reverb creates this classic sound - not by simulation but by using real springs combined with modern low-noise circuitry. We are proud to welcome you as VERMONA VSR-3 user and hope that you will enjoy to use it during music production and performances.

Getting Started To ensure top quality we carefully checked the VSR-3 before packaging. Nevertheless, the unit could have been damaged during transportation. Therefore, we ask you to take a serious look at the unit when unpacking it. Do not hesitate to contact us, should there be anything unusual on the VSR-3 itself or its packaging. You should find the following items in the box:
• the VSR-3 itself • a power cord • this manual
Connections and Powering If you came here without any problems, you can finally start up your new VSR-3. ATTENTION! Before connecting the VSR-3 all level controls (GAIN and OUTPUT LEVEL) as well as the level controls of the following equipment must be set to zero. On the VSR-3 that means the far left knob position. Switch off the VSR-3 before connecting.
1.
Connect the provided power cord to the MAINS IN (10) jack.
2.
Connect on of the input jacks (1) or (7) of the VSR-3 to the audio output of your signal source, i.e. an instrument (guitar, synthesizer), a CD player, the output of your DAW, etc.
3.
Connect one (or both) OUTPUT jacks (8) to an appropriate audio input of your amplifier, mixing console, audio interface, etc.
4.
Start the VSR-3 by switching on the POWER switch (11) on the rear. The LED above the BYPASS SWITCH (6) will be lit.
5.
The VSR-3 is operational.

Control Surface Features Front Panel
(1)
INPUT This high-Z jack input (1MΩ) on the front works well with electric guitars or basses. The inputs on the rear will be muted when this jack is used.
(2)
GAIN This controller adjusts the input level. For optimal leveling the corresponding LED should only illuminate at high level peaks.
(3)
TONE The sound of the reverb effect can be influenced with this controller. Low frequencies will be boosted when turning it to the left, on the opposite high frequencies will be boosted when turning it to the right. Center position is 12 o'clock.
(4)
MIX This controller sets the value between direct and reverberated signal. If the knob is set completely to the left, only the direct signal can be heard. The fare right position means no direct signal but 100% reverberation.
(5)
OUTPUT LEVEL This controller adjusts the output level.
(6)
EFFECT STOP This knob turns off the effect signal. It also can be controlled by a foot switch connected to the rear (9).

Rear Panel
(7)
INPUT There are two input jacks with different input levels (0dBu and -20dBu). Only use one jack at the same time. Don't use both jacks simultaneously!
(8)
OUTPUT There are two output jacks with different levels (0dBu and -20dBu). Both jacks can be used parallel.
(9)
EFFECT STOP A foot switch for controlling the effect stop function can be connected to this jack. The switch on the front panel (6) is out of use when a plug is used with this jack.
(10) MAINS IN The power cord needs to be plugged in here in order to get the VSR-3 operational. The VSR-3 has a switching power supply and can be used with AC voltages from 90V to 240V (50/60Hz). (11) POWER This switch turns the VSR-3 on/off. The LED above the EFFECT STOP switch on the front illuminates once the unit is operational.
