It is a little bigger than a credit card and the input stream can be embedded as 20 or 24 bit audio. Embedding conforms to SMPTE 272M and allows audio to be inserted into any of the four groups. Existing audio groups can be added to or completely removed. Digital silence is inserted when an audio feed is absent. There is automatic input cable equalisation for up to 350m and a re-clocked SDI output. The GlueBox Mini 40461DB also has an EDH generator and inserter switch-able from the dip switch control panel. The unit is housed in an extremely compact and rugged aluminum case and is suitable for both field and studio applications. The GlueBox Mini Series products can be used individually or rack mounted. Up to 5 can be housed in the 1U rack mounting frame or up to 14 in the 2U rack mounting frame, although power supply options may reduce rack capacity.
