What are PLS Lasers used for? • Layout:
Establishing a combination or series of Plumb, Level and / or Square reference points or lines. All projects start with layout. Proper layout leads to smooth installation.
• Installation:
PLS laser tools are used to speed installation, thereby saving money. Steel Stud Framers and Glazing Contractors can plumb track for doors, windows and walls. Mechanical and Electrical Contractors can transfer layout points and control lines from floor to ceiling and level during installation.
• Quality Control: General contractors can quickly check new or existing work for Plumb, Level and Square. Subcontractors can check existing conditions prior to submitting a bid.

Laser Safety Considerations When operating a PLS laser with an output of 0.001watts (1 milliwatt) or less: Class 2 Laser Tool
• Turn laser off when it is not required or is left unattended for a substantial period of time. • Do not look directly into the laser or point the laser at another person. • Set the laser up in an area that permits the most advantageous utility with the least amount of interference from other workers. • What should you do if you need a level mark around the job site at 66 inches high? Set up the laser well above eye level and establish a benchmark then measure down to the 66 inch height. • What is a major concern at having a laser set at 66 inches high at a job site? The worker or another worker being startled from the flash of light causing him or her to be unsafe for a moment at the job site.
