Full HD movie shooting capability in AVCHD format produces superb HD Movies. Employing the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 codec, which is more than twice as efficient in compressing data as the MPEG-2/MPEG-4 codec; which allows higher frame rates and higher bit rate to record, and provides smoother movies than other cameras without HD video recording capability.
As an addition to 3D Sweep Panorama, which is perfect for shooting landscape in dynamic 3D, 3D Still Image has been introduced to offer a new Cyber-shot 3D shooting solutions. Clear Image Zoom NEW
Optical SteadyShot (Active Mode) employs a 10x wider camera shake correction angle than conventional image stabilisers to reduce camera shake even in footage taken while walking. Now you can shoot smoother movie footage while chasing children or strolling around sightseeing. Optical Steadyshot active mode is most suitable in the following situations 1. When shooting a movie in situation when strong compensation is required. For example, when walking/running 2. Sony’s proprietary “By Pixel Super Resolution” technology employs a database that categorises patterns through analyses of every pixel and its adjacent pixels. This technology optimises image processing, giving photos that record every detail of the original scene. Edge sharpness is superb and subtle textures such as leaves and wood grain exhibit outstanding realism. Crisp, clear zoom shots “By Pixel Super Resolution” technology magnifies images up to 10x without decreasing pixel count, maintaining a high-resolution feel that is as precise as optical zoom. The camera first zooms optically up to the maximum magnification allowed by the lens optics, then employs “By Pixel Super Resolution” technology to enlarge the image an additional 2x, producing sharp, clear images despite the high magnification ratio. Cyber-shot Key Technologies & features Superior auto + "Superior Auto +" enables compact digital still camera users to enjoy digital SLR quality in addition to the ease of use that "Intelligent Auto" offers. This mode combines the "Intelligent Auto" mode and features like 10 Fps burst shooting and Auto HDR possible with the "Exmor R" CMOS sensor. It offers digital SLR quality images. In any shooting situation, simply select "Superior Auto" and your Cyber-shot automatically determines optimum settings, reduces the noise level according to different shooting scenes and compensates for heavy backlighting without changing the shooting mode.

Background Defocus mode When pressing the shutter-release button, the camera automatically takes two shots and identify the distance between the main subject and background . Based on this information and the selected level of defocus (Low, Mid, or High), defocus is produced. Backlight Correct HDR makes it easy to obtain more evenly exposed photos in backlit situations. This advanced function takes two photos at different exposures, then automatically overlaps them. Double Anti-Blur Technology
High Sensitivity Mode High Sensitivity Mode expands the ISO sensitivity up to ISO 3200 to compensate for moving objects or low light conditions. Working in tandem with Sony’s unique Clear Raw NR technology, any noise resulting from increased light sensitivity is greatly reduced for that blur-free image.
