INSTALLATION GUIDE for the
‘99-’04 Jeep Grand Cherokee SB-J-GCHER2/10W3v2

(Does not fit earlier years or Jeep Cherokee) STEP 1: Place the supplied 3"x3” wax square, sticky side down, on the rear driver-side carpet as shown in the photo at right.
STEP 2: Place the Stealthbox into its mounting location, making sure that it fits snugly against all panels.
Insert both supplied socket cup set screws into the threaded inserts on the underside of the Stealthbox.
Once aligned properly, push down firmly on the Stealthbox, in order to make a clear impression on the wax square with the socket cap screws on its underside.
Allow about 1./2” of the socket cup set screw to protrude to the outside.
This Stealthbox is a product which requires professional installation skills and tools. Please read this installation guide thoroughly before beginning the project. It will guide you step by step through the installation. Several of the steps in this process may require two people to accomplish. It is absolutely vital that the enclosure be properly mounted to the vehicle according to these instructions. Failure to mount the enclosure properly presents two problems: 1) The sub-bass performance will suffer due to the movement of the enclosure caused by the force exerted by the woofer(s) and 2) A loose enclosure presents a serious safety hazard in the event of a collision or sudden deceleration. Please enjoy your JL Audio Stealthbox responsibly.
Remove the enclosure from the vehicle carefully by lifting it up and out so as not to disturb the sheet wax.
➔ STEP 3: *Check under the rear of the vehicle to make sure there are no loose wires, brake lines or fuel lines prior to drilling through the sheet metal. Always wear eye protection when drilling.*
STEP4: *At this time double check the woofer for proper operation.* Run speaker wire behind the trim panel as shown in photo and connect to the speaker wire terminal.
Using a 1/2" carbide drill bit, drill a hole centered on the impression on the sheet wax. Remove the wax square and trim the excess carpet from the hole you've just drilled. Continued on Next Page ➔

➔ STEP5: Back out the socket cap screw to allow 1-1/2” to protrude out of the Stealthbox.
STEP6: Before tightening the nut, apply a bead of silicone sealant between the flat washer and the vehicle's sheet metal to prevent leaks.
Place the enclosure into its mounting location taking care to route the speaker wire so that it will not get stuck between the enclosure and the vehicle trim panel (bad fit) or come into contact with the woofer (bad sound).
*IMPORTANT* Once the bolt is tightened, spray undercoating onto the bolt head to prevent rust, leaks and loosening of the bolt over time. Failure to do so may result in corrosion and could present a safety hazard.
