One box works in both new and retrofit construction projects. Features dual-size conduit knockouts (1/2” & 3/4”). 1/2 or 3/4 inch conduit knockout Installation Instructions when used with Panamax's MAX®IN-WALL™ (MIW) products. STEP 1: Select the mounting locations. The first box should be close to the head-end source equipment and the second box should be close to the display device. Determine which way the MIW unit will be oriented when installed in the box then remove the box knockout opposite of where the circuit board components or receptacle will be. Example: If circuit board components are in up position, the conduit/cable entry must be from the bottom. STEP 3: Install the appropriate listed conduit/ armored cable coupler into the knockout hole before mounting the outlet box. STEP 4B: Circuit board components 4b. Retrofit (remodel/old construction) with MIW products – Using the included template as a guide, cut holes in the wall (one at each location identified in Step 1). Run the flexible conduit, AC power lines and signal-wires (not included) through one of the openings and route them through the walls to the location of the other box. Nail or screw the boxes to the wall studs, run conduit between the 2 locations and attach it to the boxes. Install the outlet box into one side of the hole, leaving the other side open for the signal-line side of the MIW unit. Tighten the expansion clamp screws until the box is held firmly in place.
